Return of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and RHOSLC
Nobody's turning up for Vicki, Luann can't stop talking, and a Mormon Wives best friend just got caught with the wrong ex. Plus the RHONY reboot's new faces, a somber Salt Lake City premiere, Below Deck meltdowns, and part one of the Next Gen NYC reunion.
Dad and Isabella are back after a week off with a packed Bravo recap. On The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, the Miami stop goes sideways as nobody turns up for Vicki, Luann drinks her way through a lingerie party, and Lisa and Teresa's new duo raises eyebrows. Over on the rebooted Real Housewives of New York, they meet the new crew, including Daisy, Erika, and Hailey, while Carole Radziwill makes her return.
Then it's on to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, where Taylor Frankie Paul's chaos keeps escalating and the Dakota, Miranda, and Layla fallout gets messier by the episode. The father and daughter also cover the somber Real Housewives of Salt Lake City premiere, which gives Mary Cosby space to grieve, along with new romances for Bronwyn and Heather and Whitney's looming apology tour.
Rounding things out, Below Deck Mediterranean delivers a stew feud, a dish-rag revenge plot, and a guest-injury cliffhanger, and the Next Gen NYC reunion kicks off part one with Ariana, Charlie, Riley, and Georgia all in the mix. It's a lot of Bravo in one sitting, exactly how they like it.
Dad: Good morning, Isabella.
Isabella: Good morning, dad. Almost afternoon. Welcome back. Welcome back, our listeners.
Dad: Welcome to episode 15. Sorry we missed a week. We just had some unavoidable family travel and other issues.
Isabella: Yep. But we are excited to be back.
Dad: What do we have on for today?
Isabella: We have our regular Bravo shows, Ultimate Girls Trip, Below Deck. RHONY is back, Real Housewives of New York. And then we have the Next Gen NYC reunion part one. And we have also watched the first three episodes of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Believe this season is five, so we'll cover the rest next week, but we're excited to talk about that.
Dad: And did you mention RHOSLC?
Isabella: Oh my gosh. Of course. Of course, RHOSLC. Yeah. I can't believe I would forget that.
Dad: Right. Alright. We could start anywhere you want.
Isabella: We start with Ultimate Girls trip because it's been it's been a minute.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: So this one, they are in Miami, and they're talking about how Lisa was late to the travel to Miami. They had to catch a flight. So we kinda pick up there. So the ladies are kind of talking, and and we have a few flashbacks of some of the best late moments. And then we saw, like, some the digestive issues in New York.
They showed a bunch of that. And Porsha's like, why are we talking about this, like, by on camera? It's bizarre. So Lisa is in the hotel talking to Teresa, because Teresa and Lisa, I guess, are kind of they're kind of a duo now. We saw that on the last episode.
Teresa's very defensive of Lisa. And Lisa's saying she just doesn't like to give fake apologies, But I really don't understand why it would be fake. Like, you you showed up late. Apologize. It's that
Dad: it doesn't actually mean can be late and think that it's excusable. Even give a fake apology. That would be better than not apologizing.
Isabella: I completely agree. So there then they start talking about Vicki, that nobody is turning up for Vicki is Porsha's words. She feels that maybe Vicki's a little bit jealous of NeNe and how NeNe got all the praise and kind of adoration and that big entrance on the throne. And, I mean, Vicki is the OG. So I I kinda see what Porsha's saying, and and I think she brought it up later.
And Vicki was like, no. I didn't really feel that way, but maybe she did. I mean, maybe there is a little bit of that. Maybe that is why she was a little bit off at the Atlanta party. But I don't know.
I think she's also probably just annoying anyway. I mean, we saw her kind of let loose this episode, so that was nice. Whoop it up, as they call it.
Dad: I wrote down going back to Lisa being with Teresa, I wrote down that Lisa is a total suck up, and it was obvious when she was talking to Teresa in the hotel room. And then Yeah. I'm glad that they're finally starting to see the things that we've seen over the prior years, which I guess they've never watched the show, that they all walk in saying, okay. I she's great to me. I I don't believe these other girls from Salt Lake City.
And then now, especially because of Gizelle, who puts her foot down to say, you're late. You should be apologetic. I'm I'm looking forward to how this turns out.
Isabella: Yeah. I agree. Okay. So where we go next? The ladies meet up with Alexia and Marysol on the beach in Miami.
We had a a bit of a flashback on recent seasons of Miami. My my favorite one is the Haitian mortician. Is it you Julia? I I say Julia now because of Love Island UK. But wasn't it Julia that was rumored to be cheating on Martina with the Haitian mortician?
They had that at the reunion.
Dad: Forgotten until they said the flashback, so I don't know.
Isabella: Well, either way, I I think it's crazy that they put Miami on pause after all that, like, one of the crazier reunions we've had. It's terrible timing to put them on pause after all that. But, immediately, we see these mannequins, and I like, what's up with these mannequins? And Alexia's in, like, a whole Barbie outfit. And they just they're playing this wig snatch game.
It it's just I
Dad: know No. Dumb. Lame. That was one of the few thing right. I wrote down snatch a wig, lame.
It
Isabella: Yeah.
Dad: I I just started reading a book.
Isabella: Well, you didn't miss much there, except for Luann just cracks me up. Anytime there is a man, it in the vicinity, she will be talking to him. And all the women are like Luann with these men. Like, he's always gotta be talking to the men.
Dad: I guess I have to give her credit for her confidence that she doesn't care how much younger they are. She thinks she has a shot.
Isabella: Yeah. And they are very much younger than her. And, yeah, you're right. She does not care at all. So while they're on the beach, they're talking about later Lisa Hochstein, because we have multiple Lisas.
Lisa Hochstein from Miami is gonna be hosting a lingerie party. The women kinda go to this, I guess I don't know if it's a beach club, but it looks like they're at a restaurant now. They're all sitting at a table. And some of the women get pretty wasted, like Luann being one of them. She was wasted.
I think Vicki was feeling it too. Luann can't won't shut up. Like, Kyle Luann gets pissed because she says Kyle rolled her eyes at her, but fair. Because I love Luann. But, yeah, she would not shut up.
Yeah. Porsha kinda told Lisa or not Lisa. Porsha told Luann, like, okay. Enough. Like, let Vicki speak.
And I think Gizelle did that too. And Luann is, yeah, just not reading the room. She's speaking while Porsha is. She's speaking while Vicki is, as we just mentioned. Lisa finally admits that she was defensive after being so late, which is good.
I mean, finally, it's you didn't have to do much. You just had to say, sorry. I was late. And they all said that. All you had to say was, I'm I'm sorry.
I was late. Oh, yeah. Luann, she's, like, telling Vicki not to do this toast. She's like, I'm not ready yet. I'm not ready yet.
And then starts going into, like, her own stupid story. And Luann, no more talking is what Gizelle said. And then we see them in the van kind of going to get ready for this party, and they're all acting not all of them, but, yeah, Luann is acting ridiculous. Porsha is saying that it's her fault because she brought some go go juice to Luann before they went out. She said no more of that for Luann.
Luann's singing again. I mean, it's ridiculous. So, overall, I think and you could you probably agree with me. It wasn't the best episode we've had. It was probably one of the worst ones on the season.
But the positive I will give is Alexia and Marysol were hilarious on Watch What Happens Live. They were cracking me up.
Dad: Oh, I didn't watch that. I I had just written down that the last two episodes were pretty weak other than some great quotes.
Isabella: Yeah. No. I I don't know. I think it's fun to see Luann wasted, especially because for a while, stopped drinking altogether, which I'm not saying is a good thing, but I don't know. It was funny.
I enjoyed it. That part of it at least. So next week next week, are they going to New York?
Dad: I'm not sure.
Isabella: I can't remember, but we still have the lingerie party. So
Dad: That's right. There there's more for Miami, I think.
Isabella: Yeah. There's we're not done with Miami, so we'll see that to tonight.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: Alright. Ready to move on, and what do you wanna talk about next?
Dad: Let's do RHONY. I have a couple comments. For both of the episodes since we skipped a week, all I wrote down was Erin is really just up to her old tricks. Nothing has changed. She's talking shit about people behind their backs.
At least this time, she's saying it to their face like, yes, I said that about you. Yes, I said this about you. Well, no, I didn't say that, and then they roll the tape and show she did, which I thought was pretty interesting. And it was also I think a lot of the behind the scenes quotes of her talking trash came from Ultimate Girls Trip where they were at an event in the Hamptons or something. So that's Yeah.
Crossover.
Isabella: Right. So I think we're gonna probably see that in a couple episodes when they're in New York. I think they might go to New York and then the Berkshires, or they just go straight to the Berkshires. But, yeah, that's where this happened, was in the Berkshires at Dorinda's party.
Dad: I'm still struggling with the new people trying to figure out how whether I like what's the one that just gets stoned all the time and then says she's not paying attention?
Isabella: I think her oh gosh. I don't remember what her name is. It might it's either it might be Hailey because I figured out that Daisy is the one that does Martha Stewart's makeup. And then we met a new girl on this episode named Erika. She's the one who's the boxing trainer that was in WWE.
And so I think the the remaining new girl is her name is Hailey, and she's the one who's in, like, a lavender relationship and
Dad: Yes. I had said to your mother that the one gal had been in a wrestler and she didn't believe me, and then they showed her background. And she looked like she
Isabella: watched WWE?
Dad: No. But I had read it someplace online or some reference to it.
Isabella: I didn't have as much for this second episode as I did for the first one, which I did I did kinda mention a few of our notes on social media since we missed last episode. But Daisy, who is Martha Stewart's makeup artist, she decides to throw a brunch for Sai because Sai is going through a hard time. She mentioned on the last episode that she's separating from her husband and it's a lot. The the weird what's weird to me though is they're throwing this brunch for Sai but most of these girls don't know what Sai is going through. So some of them show up and they're like, oh, well, what's wrong with Sai?
Like, what are we doing this for? Are we celebrating something? Like, what are we here for? But they're not of course, Jessel and Erin and I think well, of course, Daisy who threw it. Those three know, but the rest of them have no idea.
So I thought it was a little bit bold. That's what I have to say. Oh, just more boxer girl is married to the BILT rewards guy. Do you know who that is?
Dad: I have heard reference to him, but I don't know who he is.
Isabella: A good line by Jessel. I I'm pretty sure she was talking about Erin. She said, I thought I called pest control, but the pest is back. Yes. Was a good one.
Dad: I caught that one. That was good.
Isabella: What? You're unsure about Jessel?
Dad: Yeah. I had written down that she sucks.
Isabella: I don't know. I like her. She I think it I might have written down that she's my favorite on the show.
Dad: Interesting. Okay.
Isabella: So we might be a little bit off there.
Dad: Well, and we're covering two weeks and two episodes, so that might have been from a prior episode. I really do like her husband, though. He might be my favorite person on the show. Pavit. Impressed that I remember his name.
Isabella: Yeah. Yeah.
Dad: He's kind oblivious.
Isabella: He is. He well, we heard on Watch What Happens Live that he's finally figured out a way to monetize his food influencing, which honestly good for him. I'd love to be able to do something like that for money. Okay. Back to this brunch.
We finally see Carole come in. Carole Radziwill from OG not not season one, but, like, the OG RHONY. So I'm excited she's back. I'm not sure how she fits into this bunch, but we see kind of conversation about I think Jessel kind of brings up the whole Carolyn Bessette thing, which I did not watch that show on Hulu. Did you you didn't watch it either, did you?
Dad: No. And I didn't really I I I thought it was misunderstanding or a missed part of it. I didn't know what they were even talking about.
Isabella: There was a show about Carolyn Bessette. I don't even know if I'm pronouncing her name correctly.
Dad: And I
Isabella: guess it was JFK junior, question mark.
Dad: It I am aware of the couple and how they died in a tragic plane crash where JFK junior
Isabella: was piloting
Dad: the plane.
Isabella: A big Hulu show that came out called American Love Story about them. So that's kind of I understand why they're asking Carole about this, but they're getting to a certain point when, like, Gizelle asks some questions that were not so cool. Like, do you think that family is cursed and stuff like that? And Carole I mean, that was, like, Carole's best friend. So I can understand Carole starts gets in starts to get annoyed, and she ends up leaving.
So we saw on watch what happens live, Jessel well, I don't know if you watched it, but Jessel was on there, and she kind of, like, doubled down. Like, I guess she did say, like, yeah. I guess I could understand how that would but but I was saying it in this way. Like, that's not how I meant it. And, like, I thought she would wanna talk about it.
And it's no, Jessel. I don't know why you can't read the room there. Like, they died tragically. Of course, doesn't wanna talk about it.
Dad: Right. Right.
Isabella: But whatever. We we still got Erin and Jessel kinda going at each other. They're talking about their it starts to get weird because Erin is saying that Jessel was mean to her --ologist. And then Jessel's saying, like, well, you don't have real friends, so you have to invite your dermatologist to a party. It's just I mean, classic housewife stuff, really.
Dad: They got into an argument about whose dermatologist it was, who found him first or not. It it just seemed so trivial.
Isabella: Yeah. I mean, it was clearly Erin, but it just doesn't matter. It who cares? Oh, the other thing, and this is the last thing I have for this. Daisy, who, again, Daisy is the one who is Martha Stewart's makeup artist.
She said her son her son's tutor texted her and said she has a crush on or he has a crush on her. She loved the message, like on iPhone, how you can heart a message. Pretty weird. No?
Dad: I think it is weird in so many ways.
Isabella: Really weird.
Dad: One, that he would text her that. Two, that she would heart emoji or or light love the the text. It's just Yeah.
Isabella: Yeah. I think on both ends are bizarre, especially her because she's married. But and she and her husband are kinda have a weird dynamic, and I don't know how that's gonna play out. But I don't know. I I I kinda have hope in the show.
I wasn't excited about it initially, but there's potential.
Dad: How many people from the first season didn't come back? When I say first season, the first of the reboot. I know that the fashionista lady is not back, but your mother was insistent that someone else used to be on it isn't on it anymore.
Isabella: No. There are a few people. They definitely, like, cut it in half, but I don't know why oh, what's her name? She was the one who was big, big drama last season. Okay.
Oh. Yes. Yes. Ubah.
Dad: Okay.
Isabella: Jenna Lyons, as you mentioned, and then Racquel, but Racquel was new. So I think the main ones are Brynn, Whitfield, Ubah, and Jenna Lyons. They did not return. I think they could have kept Ubah on, but whatever. I'm I'm fine with it.
Dad: Well, maybe they voluntarily exited the franchise.
Isabella: Yeah.
Dad: Sure.
Isabella: Yeah. I don't know about that.
Dad: Okay.
Isabella: Yeah. What do you wanna do next?
Dad: Let's do something a little bit more interesting. Secret lives of Mormon wives. And I finally did write down the title, so I wouldn't call it real Mormon wives or some sort of derivation of a Bravo title. One thing, you'll I don't think you'll appreciate or and I mean, clock this. The opening soundtrack, the very beginning always sounds like the Damian movies.
There was a series of movie there was a, like, a trilogy of movies in the eighties where the devil had, you know, impregnated someone and some baby was born with a six six six on its scalp and turned into the devil. And they have this the the music for the the trilogy is just really ominous singing and the very you know, the first ten or fifteen seconds of this of the show always reminds me. And it's not just me. I said it to your mother. She said, oh, yeah.
It's there. But then I also wrote down at high level, and I'm sure you're gonna cover this. Taylor is just she might be competing for, like, the most horrible person as far as problems that she has. Like, she's not evil, but she I just wrote down. She's horrible.
Right? I someone should be counseling her. She shouldn't be on television. People I I feel bad that she
Isabella: in competition.
Dad: Oh, you think she's it. She's
Isabella: She's won it. There's no competition. Like, when you when it comes to, like, child, which is kind of what we're talking about with Taylor Frankie Paul and the stool throwing videos. Like, I think she's one in worse person on TV.
Dad: Oh, I had forgotten about that when I said she's, you know, not like she's not evil, but I guess the the results are similar when you're talking about children. I I I mentioned to my sister, your aunt, oh, have you I asked if she had started the show and she said, no way. Season two is just too crazy. I can't go back. What Taylor did with, you know, her Season two was too whatever the prior season was.
She said, what how she talked to her mom and that thing with her ex boyfriend? I said, oh my gosh. You have no idea. The first ten minutes of this new season will blow your mind, and then you'll say, can't get any crazier. Then the next ten minutes of the first episode will be even crazier.
So, of course, she went home that night and watched, and so she's on board for the season. Yeah.
Isabella: So for a little bit of context, and I I'm not gonna do, like, a whole recap or anything for this. I I'm gonna keep it pretty high level as well, but I think it's good to kind of acknowledge where we are on the timeline of the season. So we're picking up kind of right after Taylor finishes her bachelorette season, like, after she films the whole thing. So this is before the bachelorette got canceled. This is before Jessi and her husband separated.
It's also before, of course, that video comes out that creates the cancellation. So they're kind of talking. They don't know what happened on The Bachelorette. I wanna shout out this guy I went to high school with. He got a shout out on the show because he made it to the final through.
I'm not gonna say his name, but all the other girls are kinda talking about how, oh, these other two guys were so much better, and she had to pick Doug who, of course, wants to, like, be a singer. And so shout out to you're not you're probably not listening, but if you are, hey. Yeah. So the girls didn't like Doug. Taylor did said she doesn't she didn't even know she was gonna get engaged.
But at this point, she she kind of has three men on her roster in a not good way because she's engaged. She got engaged. She comes home. She, I guess, sleeps with Dakota multiple times. And then she's now telling the girls in love, guy named Ben, who we've seen Ben before, but you're in you're engaged and you're in love with another man.
Like, how insane. You're like, wake up, girl. What are you doing? This
Dad: is on television. So it's
Isabella: Yeah. And she really doesn't even feel like I feel like she doesn't know what she's doing wrong. Like, she doesn't think that there's any problem. But
Dad: No. No. And they have given some previews of when she's finally confronted by her friends that she immediately gets defensive. She has this really weird way of fighting back when someone calls her out on anything.
Isabella: Yeah. So it's not only it's not only Taylor Frankie Paul, though. There are from the last season, we found out that Dakota was also messing around with Shinia, who is not on the show, but we know that she is Miranda's best friend. So Taylor finds this out kind of before she goes on the bachelorette, and it's this big deal. And it's still kind of a big deal.
We see a scene of Taylor and Dakota continuing to argue about it. But really the bigger thing that we find out is this girl, Layla, finds out that she was not only sleeping with Dakota, but she was also messing around with Miranda's ex husband. And as I just mentioned, Miranda is supposed to be her best friend. So this girl's like, she's I think they need to get her on the show at this point because she's not as bad as Taylor, but she's also a terrible human being. How are you gonna mess around with your best friend's ex husband and father of her children?
Crazy.
Dad: I think it's ironic that Taylor gets so mad about this when she's got three guys. Right? Why is she mad with Shinia doing something with Dakota? Then he admits to doing it again after his big heartfelt apology last season where he, you know, tries to acknowledge that he knows how terrible it was, but then he did it again. I do like that she called him out and then he admitted to it, but I bet that they still got
Isabella: to, like, shy away from confrontation. That's for sure.
Dad: Well, that might be the understatement. I also noticed that it seems like on this show, there's an incredible amount of cosmetic surgery or other procedures that has gone on, especially considering if you look at all of the shows we cover, they're probably the average age of the Mormon housewives is much younger than most of the other shows, but still they're getting procedures done earlier. I even think one of the guys has had his teeth done. I think Zach's teeth are different. I'm going on record on that.
Of course, I always think stuff like that and you guys disagree with me, but it's just kind of a disproportionate amount. I don't know if it's something to do with where they are or their culture there, but and they did say something in, I think, episode two about there's something about their religion that you have to be perfect in all ways, including your appearance. So I I'm not throwing stones, but if anyone thinks I am, I'm giving them a pass because maybe this is just part of how they're raised. But it's just it's distracting to me because I don't think it's a great result. It it I think in many instances, the outcome is not favorable.
Isabella: Yeah. Well, I I did like how Jessi is very open about that and how she's very honest. And she said herself that she kind of messed up her face, and she's going through all that it takes to kind of go back to feeling like herself, which, of course, is more surgery and more fillers and whatever. And what's interesting is I'm pretty sure I read somewhere, and I don't have, like, the source on this, but I think that Salt Lake City is, like, right behind, like, LA and Miami in terms of amount of plastic surgery that goes on. Interesting.
I again, like like you said, I don't know if it's because of their religion or not or just maybe it's kind of connected to that because they do feel like they have to kind of all be perfect looking, and I I don't know what it is. But the yeah. It's not just them. I think it's kind of a common theme in Salt Lake City. So I
Dad: thought it was funny that Jessi was making herself a martyr for traveling to New York for the Chicago premier and was talking about how she was still in pain from her surgery and said, I googled it or I did chat GPT and it says I might have a hematoma, which I'm pretty sure that's just the medical term for a bruise. And then later she was even saying, I might be having internal bleeding and I'm still showing up for her. That's how good of a friend I am. I'm like, come on. Please.
Right? If you really thought you had internal bleeding, you would be at the hospital.
Isabella: To be fair to her, these are some serious surgeries. Like, some of the surgeries that she's getting, which it looks like she probably had her boobs done, like, that is a serious surge. Like, it's it's not just like you come home and you're better in a couple days. It is a long recovery process.
Dad: I know, but you can not that I've ever had the surgery, I've seen enough of the recoveries on the other shows where including The Valley. Right? So you can see how long it took what's her face to recover from her most recent procedures. I'm pretty sure by the time that trip rolls around, she's been cleared and she's just trying to make it overly dramatic, but I might just be misinformed and ignorant. That's it's
Isabella: Yeah. I don't know. I mean, we also saw her saying and her husband who she's now not with anymore, of course. What is his name even? He doesn't Jordan or something, but he doesn't even matter.
Jessi and Jordan were kind of both acknowledging, like, okay. After this, no more surgeries. So, yeah, maybe she was being a little bit dramatic in that. Like, if she got on a plane, she probably was cleared, but maybe it still was kind of a scary thing where she was a little bit freaked out by her recovery. And I don't know if she stood like, she stuck to that, but she definitely said, like, I think this might be my last surgery.
So we'll I don't know. I don't know. But I wanna go back really quick to when I guess it wasn't all the girls, but Taylor was kind of sitting down with some of the girls telling them about what happened at the bachelorette and then what happened with Dakota and how she's in love with somebody else. There were a few good quotes from that. The weird thing is is Taylor's just kinda I'm I'm crazy.
Chaos is all I know. She that's she said exactly chaos is all I know. Like, she's kind of joking about it. Now, Mikayla Mikayla had a good line, which while I'm talking about Mikayla, I just wanna say she's I think she's gonna be a major loss. She has announced she's not gonna be doing the show anymore because of Taylor Frankie Paul.
And I think she kind of had a slower start to the show, but at this point, she and Mayci are really the only ones that keep it real. And I like that Mikayla calls Taylor out and says, quote, you were a oh oh, because they were asking her, like, oh, well, how is the fantasy suite with Doug? And she's like, what? My parents are watching. And Mikayla goes, you were a swinger.
You went to jail. I think they've seen worse.
Dad: That was good.
Isabella: That was a really good line. So, yeah, that was funny. We saw oh god. So it's oh, Mayci and Mikayla again, these two that keep it very real. We saw them confront Chase.
Do I even remember why? Do you remember why they confronted Chase? I know we had, like, a DUI with, like, cocaine and I remember. That why?
Dad: No. It was because Jessi was baiting them on, and it was clearly done without preparation because they had to alert production and say we're gonna turn around and go to the men's some birthday party. And I think it was because they had told Jessi that Chase said, hey. If Jessi wasn't married, I would definitely wanna be with her. She's hot or something like that.
And so Jessi was the one who's driving it. And I think that Jessi just loves the drama. I think that she's into it because it avoid that at all cost. Why go and bring this up if you got if you hate all these guys and you say you're just here for the clout and the clicks, why then go put them on camera again? It's just inconsistent.
Isabella: Yeah. And there's something else that we're missing here that I found in my notes. They're upset with Chase because he planned a trip and booked an Airbnb with Dakota and Marciano.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: And if we will remember, Marciano is the guy from Vanderpump Villa who Jessi cheated on her husband with. And Jessi is upset that this happened, that Chase went and hung out with him. Now that's ironic because fast forward to present day, Jessi and Marciano are fully boyfriend and girlfriend. Like, they're together. What?
Yeah. You can go look at her Instagram.
Dad: They are
Isabella: fully together, very, very public about it. Oh my god. Got a tattoo with her name or something.
Dad: No. You're there's no coming.
Isabella: No. Yeah. You're gonna have to go do your own research because I'm not making this up.
Dad: I have to draw the line somewhere. I have some self respect. I am not gonna go look that up. But before I forget, what's up with the haircut that these clowns get? Marciano and one of the other guys, maybe Jordan, they get their the sides shaved way over their ears, so it almost looks like the it's like a short wanna do a mohawk, but they don't have the guts to take it all the way up to the top.
But they just have this bizarre haircut. It throws me. Maybe I'm just so out of touch with what is in fashion now.
Isabella: I don't know. I didn't notice their haircut. I think that
Dad: Marciano was sporting something.
Isabella: Bit of a boomer moment.
Dad: Yeah. It's bad.
Isabella: Oh, the other thing I wrote down is I love Mayci. Her husband is a little bit Danny from the valley coated, I think, with the, like, oh, we should have another kid. No. We should really have another kid. No.
What if you should get pregnant now. Like, don't love it. But out of all the husbands, he's probably the least bad. So okay.
Dad: I I did think that that was an awkward situation where the mom was or no. The sister was really pushing too, like, you know, we're supposed to do this because that's what they say at church. And then I think the mom finally did back Mayci.
Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. Which you should. I mean, if she doesn't want another child, at least not right now, then she doesn't have to.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: Oh, back okay. I know I keep going back to this chase ambushing thing, but I I like one of the things I like about this show is they don't really hide as much that the there's production going on. Like, when they're driving over to, I guess, it was Dakota's birthday where they confronted him, they got they got a producer on a walkie talkie kinda telling them what to do and telling them, like, okay. You're gonna go park here. And I thought Mayci was funny.
She yelled smash his car. And so they gave one of Mayci's books, and she signed it to my biggest fan. She gave that to Dakota. I thought that was funny. Oh, of course, Zach is pulling up at a Cybertruck.
I mean, come on.
Dad: Oh, you mean the Tesla truck? Right. Yeah.
Isabella: Yeah. I can't with the Cybertruck, but I'm like, of course. Of course. For context, they're all in New York and Taylor is, like, supposed to be meeting up with the girls, but she's in her hotel room with Ben. And she leaves the dinner early to go back to Ben, and she it's just I wrote down that Taylor is the girl that will abandon her friends for any man.
It doesn't matter what's going on.
Dad: A 100%.
Isabella: She's going to abandon her friends for the man.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: I did love Mayci and Mikayla again coming in and crashing the party, and she's trying to hide him. And they're like, we know you have somebody here. And so they end up finding him. And, yeah, you mentioned Layla. I was like, she's gotta stop buying this man everything.
But, also, I don't know if you know, Layla is now dating a woman, and she seems very happy. So good for her. She's not paying for this stupid man anymore. The last thing I said was the Jen and Whitney thing is weird, but I do think that it was clearly very hard for Jen to go over and, like, genuinely congratulate Whitney on her success, but it's it still seemed genuine to me. Like, I know it was hard for her, but it still came off as, like, she really meant what she was saying.
So I thought that was nice. Jen's kind of not been my favorite in all of the seasons, but I thought that was very mature of her. So I hope I hope that they get to a better place.
Dad: I don't think that's happening. They showed a preview of their discussion for the next episode, and I don't think it goes very well.
Isabella: Oh, maybe I exited out before I saw that.
Dad: Yeah.
Isabella: I don't know. I mean, I guess there's gotta be some drama that's created by someone besides Taylor, so whatever.
Dad: That's oh, that's one of the other things I was thinking is that the drama of the show is so centered around Taylor that I was starting to get sick of it. But then in episode three, it's not as much about her. I mean, they did have the thing with Ben and her being not a girl's girl, not paying attention at the two dinners. But on the other hand, it made me question, wait. Am I just getting too sucked in that I can't wait for the drama to go back to her where she, like, blows up and her friends, know, the whole thing ends.
It just I don't know. Sometimes reality shows are so bad it makes me question, you know, what am I doing even watching this show.
Isabella: Yeah. But then when it's really good, it makes up for it. Right?
Dad: I know, but it's this one is gonna be really good because she's so tragic. It's it's it makes me think.
Isabella: Yeah.
Dad: Okay. Should we move on to another one?
Isabella: I think we have below deck and
Dad: RHOSLC and NeNe's Gen.
Isabella: Yeah.
Dad: Okay. I'll start with Salt Lake City, as we say RHOSLC. It's so sad that Mary's son dies and then I guess I give them credit for giving a lot of airtime to the topic and give her some grace so she doesn't have to record for the first three weeks and they show the women all coming together. But it's also probably I don't know. Didn't make for a first great episode.
Right? It's not like what we go to for reality TV, the drama. It's too much real life. So it was tough to watch and I feel bad for her and the rest of her family. But it's I don't know.
I I'm looking forward to the second episode because the best part of the first episode was the preview of the rest of the season.
Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. I didn't have any many notes on this episode kind of because of that. It was definitely an episode that was dedicated to Robert junior. Very somber.
We saw all the women, and we know these women. They can't stand each other. Like, we see that on Ultimate Girls Trip. They they hate each other, a lot of But we still see them coming together. It's it's I had a hard time listening to them talk about it.
Like, it's it it really is so so sad that it it was a tough watch. The whole the his dog I mean, her looking for the dog and going into Robert Junior's room, and the dog is there looking for him. It's it's it's so sad finding out that her own brother and sister didn't go to the funeral. Just brutal. So but but it is nice that Mary is clearly very strong.
She was making me cry going down the line and thanking each one of them, especially because her family wasn't there anymore. I mean, I think she says, you guys are my family. So, yeah, it was it was a tough watch, but it was it was nice too. I mean, I think they did it. I think the editors did a really good job with the episode.
There were a few other things that happened on the episode. Like, we saw Bronwyn has a new boyfriend. I think now she's got a whole different one. On Watch What Happens Live, she was like, oh, that was five boyfriends ago. Like, I've got a new one now.
But he's very good looking, like, way better than Todd.
Dad: But that's not so much.
Isabella: It's not. But very good for like, I'm pretty sure this guy was, like, a model. So good for her, honestly. Oh, Whitney is saying that she has a lot of apologies to make, which I I guess is kind of a not cliffhanger, but a little bit of like a preview for the coming episodes. She already apologized to Bronwyn.
I guess she got wasted and was saying some nasty things at a drag brunch. I don't even know what the things were, but she knows she needs to be apologizing to people. So we'll be seeing that apology tour. And then Heather also has a new man. Her name his name is Tripp.
He's like a contractor, question mark, with a motorcycle. Yeah. I'm happy for her, I guess.
Dad: That's fine. But I just like he doesn't seem like he's gonna add anything to the show. He seems like maybe a little bit too normal, so why bring him on? I just Yeah.
Isabella: I yeah. I mean, clearly, wants to bring him on because she's happy with him. Because everyone else has, like, their husband, and she's never had somebody. So I get it. Well, I guess it's pretty
Dad: hypocritical hypocritical of me to say all the husbands on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives suck, and then you get a boyfriend on here. I'm like, he's too normal. So that's obviously inconsistent.
Isabella: Yeah. I agree. Oh, we had like a little thing between Lisa and John, the Barlow's. I get this surprised me. Lisa had told John at one point that she thought they were done.
I guess they worked it out, and they seem to be fine now. But, yeah, they had an issue too. We, of course, know now, fast forward, that Whitney and her husband
Dad: are Wait. Let's go back to Lisa and her husband. They worked it out because he caved. He was right when he was arguing with her last season, when he was saying, You don't listen. Nothing is important unless it's important to you.
You don't care about what I think, and you're cutting me off right now. And I finally thought, Wow, he is standing up to her because that is how she is. And now he's just totally backtracking and saying, I'm so sorry. I had other stuff going on, which may have been true, but that doesn't mean what he said before was wrong. And your mother and I both said he caved.
Isabella: Yeah. And I I I don't think you're wrong, but I do I mean, there was some sort of acknowledgment from Lisa, and I'm I'm again, I'm not, like, taking Lisa's side here necessarily, but I think even just her saying that when she watched that back, she was crying.
Dad: Because
Isabella: don't she like stood be up to she did change her tune a little bit. I mean, you are talking about a scene from last season.
Dad: I know. She didn't change at all.
Isabella: She's Maybe she I
Dad: No. She's finally she's, like, touched because he said what she wanted to hear. He apologized. Didn't let you know? Guess.
Took all
Isabella: the blame. I guess so. Oh, the the last thing I had to say was I didn't even realize that Britani wasn't there for the entire episode. She wasn't there. Like, she wasn't invited to any of their little things.
So I forgot until they showed the preview and Britani was back.
Dad: Oh, I didn't even know that she was gonna be on this season.
Isabella: Yeah. Of course, she's on the season, but she's I guess she doesn't have a snowflake. So Oh. Speaking of that, Bronwyn is center snowflake.
Dad: That's I kind did of notice that. That's kind of crazy.
Isabella: She's only been there for two seasons, so I think that's pretty impressive for her. But, yeah, good for her. I don't know.
Dad: I wonder if they decide that after the end of the season based on what happens during the season.
Isabella: That's a good question.
Dad: I might have to ask Andy.
Isabella: I don't know either.
Dad: Okay. Do you have anything more on this one?
Isabella: I do not, but I'm excited for the season.
Dad: Me too. Okay. You wanna do below deck med?
Isabella: Sure. I don't think I had that much there either.
Dad: I don't really either. I do know again, shout out to Bravo Docket. They did a full blown episode on Nathan. He has been convicted in absentia because he didn't show up for court in Australia, and you can be convicted without showing up at all. So he is a convicted criminal on the run.
He also had a prior episode or prior incident in Ireland that he was running from, and so it's it's kinda crazy how he even got on the show, and they go through and explain the details of why that makes sense. But, yeah, he's not only had ties cut with Bravo, but he is going to be caught at some point because there's no way he can be on any more cruise ships. He's on the run, but he will not be serving on a crew anywhere.
Isabella: Yeah. I well, good. I'm over him. I never really wanna talk about him again, to be honest.
Dad: Okay. We can not refer to him.
Isabella: Well, I mean, he's still in the season. I had, like, a couple notes about him, I guess. But, yeah, I'm I'm excited to never have to talk about him again. The couple notes I had, we have a new guest named Michelle, and they're showing they do a little joke about her food pyramid. And her food pyramid kinda looks like mine.
She loves her carbs, her pasta, and her bread, and her potatoes. Like, that's me. That's my food pyramid. I'm not as dramatic about it, though, I guess. Okay.
Gen Gen is being insane. She's being absolutely just crazy this episode. I guess this all started when Luke, who is the guy who was fired not fired, he left on his own like weeks ago at this point, He sent Joy flowers. Gen got really upset by that and sent him a text. But what's funny is at the end of the text, goes, this is the only time you will hear from me.
And then she continues to send him more texts about like how awful it was and how like I don't even know what she was saying, but she was crazy. I mean, she's being insane with this. Yeah. She continues to do it. He told Joy that, like, Gen is sending me some weird texts later in the episode.
Now I don't know why Gen is so mad at Joy. Joy didn't do anything.
Dad: Right. I
Isabella: don't She's get it at texting him, but like Joy is not the one who made him send her flowers. And so the fact that Gen is like taking this out on Joy, later in the episode, we see that Gen is putting all of Joy's clothes in with, like, the dish rags with all, like, the food particles on it, which, again, here's the thing. Why are you gonna do this to the only person that makes and handles your food?
Dad: Not smart.
Isabella: Like, it's stupid in the first place, but it's also, like, not smart, like you said. It's this is, again, the only woman that does your makes your food. I don't know. And and it's also just not her fault. And Gen starts, like, lying about it.
She's like, oh, no. That was accident. I didn't mean to do that. I didn't realize that there were rags in there. No.
You're a liar. You're a liar.
Dad: Just again, with Below Deck, I really hope that they can manage some sort of virtual reunion or that Andy at least calls her out on Watch What Happens Live because that's that's gonna be a good thread or topic to cover in some way outside of the show itself. Just her overall arc of craziness and sending him several texts like you said. And then when he finally responded, she said, I'm not this conversation is over or something like that, like making it sound like he was pestering her. And he was probably just like, please stop. I I don't need this.
Isabella: Yeah. She might be one of the worst ones that we've had on this show. I mean, she's just delusional. Like, completely delusional. Oh, and then the I guess the other thing that happened and the kind of cliffhanger that we have because, of course, every Below Deck episode has to have a little bit of a cliffhanger.
Right. Joe is, like, bringing all the guests around in this massive tube. He goes a little bit too hard, and it looks like one of the guests dislocated her shoulder or something, maybe separated her shoulder. You would know about that. Yeah.
So we're gonna see. I guess we're gonna see what happens with her. I'm sure it's gonna be fine. All these cliffhangers are usually like, oh, thirty seconds into the next episode, everything's fine again.
Dad: Right. Right. Like when the police showed up a couple episodes ago, and it was just like, your music is too loud. Like, oh my okay. That's
Isabella: Yeah. Nothing burger completely. Think we have Next Gen NYC left. Right?
Dad: Yes. Yes.
Isabella: Okay. So this was the reunion part one of two parts. I'm pretty sure there are two parts. Let's see. I thought okay.
Georgia is really cracking me up lately. Like, I really like her. I think she's funny. The way she walks in, she's like, is this a doctor's office? Like, where are we?
Thought that was like, she's clearly never done this before.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: But I think I would have asked the same question. I would have been like, what is this place? Yeah. I thought it was a good episode. It was a good reunion.
They addressed a lot of stuff. I wrote down that Ariana is definitely gonna end up with Hudson. Like, I know at this point, she's kind she and Liam are, like, kinda still talking. They were seen out together, dancing together. She's gonna end up with Hudson.
Like, that's very clear and maybe I'm the only one, but that's just very clear to me.
Dad: Well, she could also find someone new. Right? If Bronwyn can have Of course. Five boyfriends I then Ariana can find somebody else too. Yeah.
It's not like she has only three
Isabella: not choices. Saying I I'm not even saying I want her to be with Hudson. I just I that's how I see it ending up. Okay. It's a lot more maturity in this episode.
I mean, there was some not, but Emira apologizing to Georgia for kind of taking out some of her relationship frustration on her.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: Saying like, I you didn't deserve that. I was kind of already frustrated with my boyfriend anyway. I thought that was nice. We had Andy confronting Ava about what happened with Kyle. I guess they just kissed.
I wrote down, I'm still confused about Charlie's crypto torture house thing, but I loved how Brooks kind of confronted he was like, well, what about the crypto torture house? And he said it like in that exact same way multiple times.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: Like, finally, well, someone's asking. Thank God. Because we still don't really know.
Dad: Well, and they showed him calling his mother during a break and she gave him a warning like, number one, if you're still mic, they're going to use this footage, which of course they did. Then she was saying, stand up for yourself. And so they they Charlie did call him out and say, Oh, well, you're coming you're trying to be more forceful because people called you out in the socials that you're too weak, or something along those lines, but it probably was because his mom said, You need to step up and be a little bit more direct.
Isabella: Yeah. His mom meaning Meredith Marks, to be Yes. Which she would know. She would know about the hot mic.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: Let's see. Oh, we got Charlie and Georgia going back and forth and back and forth and back and forth. And Charlie's saying that he brought Georgia on the show. She wouldn't be here without him.
Dad: Some he also said something about your entire look is because of me. I don't know if that what he meant by that. Did you catch that?
Isabella: Did I catch that? Maybe not. Maybe I didn't.
Dad: Okay.
Isabella: I thought it was a little weird that Ava was defending Charlie so much to Georgia. Shai is not surprising. They're friends. But yeah, Ava was a little bit weird. And then oh, we went back and forth a little bit with Ariana and Riley.
I think they're gonna be fine, but I think the takeaway from this is that they they do these after shows that we don't really watch and maybe we should be. But the main thing about the after show is Riley was kind of doubling down on what she was saying. But Riley, at that point, hadn't seen the episode back. So Ariana was upset when she saw that after show because even though they had kind of made up in real life, she was doubling down the after show. But then Riley tried to clear it up in that, well, once I saw the episode, I realized that you were helping me a lot more than I thought you were.
And like maybe I had it wrong. But when I filmed the after show, I didn't know that yet. So I think the timeline of when they're filming these things and when they're doing confessionals, I think they're kind of still learning that. And yeah, I think they're gonna be fine.
Dad: Well, two things. One, that does explain how sometimes they get mad at each other because they haven't seen the actual show. But Andy also said, hey, when you're being interviewed for a confessional, they're asking you to say what you felt in the moment as opposed to what you feel then, and that's the hardest part about being on any of these shows. However, none of this explains the fact that Riley was doubling down again on the reunion, and she has absolute full information. She still said a wishy washy, Oh, you did as good as you can, or, Yeah, that was you being a friend as you know, as opposed to, And Ariana did a great job.
And she even said something again like, well, I have friends that would have pulled me away or tried to say let's go do something else. And then Emira and others jumped in and said, she was doing that. So I don't Riley is just still not taking full responsibility for the fact that she was just simply drunk and no matter what, anyone, how good of a friend they were at the time, whether from Atlanta or Ariana, could not have gotten her out of that situation, and that's on Riley. It's not giving her as much of a pass as you are. She still is not clear on how to apologize.
Again, she's super young, but she has a mother who has been in this business for a long time that could have said, just say you're sorry and be done with it.
Isabella: Yeah. I don't know if she needed to apologize to Ariana, to be honest. Like, yeah, she was wrong, but she like, telling speaking her mind and how she felt in that moment was not yeah, she could have said something about, like, I I misunderstood. Like, I I misunderstood the the situation. But even Ariana said, like, I didn't really expect an apology because that's how you felt and you were just sharing how you felt.
Of course, she was wrong when she went back and watched it. And you're right that I don't know if I'd say she completely doubled down. I mean, I think she still, to a certain point, does probably wish that Ariana did something differently. But, again, even the show didn't show everything that was going on. And that's kind of why Emira I mean, we didn't see on the show how many times Ariana was trying to pull her away.
And I think that's kind of why Emira and whoever else jumped in and said, no. She was trying to remove you from the situation the entire time.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: So I don't know. I think, yeah, I I hear what you're saying. I think they're both kind of still not both, but I think Riley is kind of still figuring out what even happened that night. So I don't know.
Dad: Right. I don't look, there's a high probability she doesn't remember everything that went on. But by now, has seen at least what we have seen. And she should have just said like, hey, that time when I said you could have been a better friend and done more for me, now I've seen everything and I was wrong. That's it.
I'm not asking for anything more than that.
Isabella: Yeah. But she might not feel that way. I mean, there might be something that I don't know. I I think at the end of the day, they're gonna be fine. Yep.
I think they're gonna figure it out and be fine. So the last thing I had to say is Charlie is often making so much sense and, like, really getting his point across. And, like, he's he's always almost getting me on his side, and then he completely loses me by saying something so nasty, and it's usually to Georgia.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: Like, he he has me, and then he loses me at the end.
Dad: I agree. He's a very good debater. He's very well spoken. He is logical in how he presents things, but then yes, he has to go throw something in like saying, You wouldn't be on the show if it wasn't for me, along those lines. And then I know that it's going get worse in the next episode because he's going to call Ariana out on something where they say, Look, if you want me to, I'm gonna quote you and you're not gonna like it.
Now, again, it might be just like a cliffhanger on Below Deck Med where you find out in the actual episode it's it's not that big of a deal, but we'll see.
Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. Well, that's about all I had for that, but I'm excited for the next I I kind of think they could do three parts, but
Dad: That's
Isabella: next Two is fine. Whatever. Yeah.
Dad: Three three part reunion is is serious. That one's only, you know, for Scandoval, West Amanda level reunions.
Isabella: No. We have three parts for every Housewives reunion. Mean, That's let's be
Dad: a whole different set of franchises. Right? This is like probably the junior league of the junior varsity in most minds.
Isabella: I guess my my point is I think there's enough content there that Yes. They could if they wanted
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: So, I'm excited for the next one. What do we do we have a new show starting this week? Oh, let me just mention real quick. We're not watching Dancing with the Stars. I know it's big.
Like, I know it's really come back and is big in the culture now. Sorry. We don't care. Never watched it even when even back in the day. So sorry.
We won't be covering that. I'm sure there are plenty of others that you can get
Dad: I do admit that your mother and I used to watch So You Think You Can Dance. That was one that we watched.
Isabella: Yeah. But that's not a thing anymore.
Dad: I know. I know. But I'm no. Never watched
Isabella: other one is Earle Meets World. That one's a little bit young for me. Like, I know Alix Earle is huge too, but I've kind of never been that interested in her either. I've heard a lot about the show. Like, I know the whole deal, but I don't think we're gonna do that one either.
Dad: Well, let us know if you disagree, but we got some strong encouragement from Drayton's New Jersey folks saying that it's a big deal. We should watch it. And then they had giant billboards in Times Square for that show, and I have no idea anything
Isabella: about it
Dad: or who that kid is. I don't know. Maybe if I have a spare time, I'll watch one episode and come back or tell you
Isabella: that you I should watch I kind of think it's past us anyway. We probably should have covered it a couple weeks ago if we were going to. But
Dad: Okay. Alright.
Isabella: I don't know.
Dad: I don't have anything else on my list. Do you?
Isabella: I also do not a new season of Traitors came out, non celebrity. I watched the first episode, but I don't know how much we're gonna cover it. But that's what I'm watching too.
Dad: Okay.
Isabella: Alright. Well, thanks for tuning in. Again, sorry we weren't here last week, but we'll we'll be get getting back to that consistent every Monday morning. As usual, like, comment, leave a review, subscribe, all of the above, etcetera, etcetera. And we'll talk to you next week.
Dad: Thanks, everyone.
