Reunions and Reckonings: RHOA, The Valley, and Ultimate Girls Trip

It's a reunion-heavy week as Dad and Isabella break down the Bravo slate: the Ultimate Girls Trip crew touching down in Beverly Hills, an explosive Part 2 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, and The Valley's Season 3 finale reckoning. Plus: a sobering new Boeing documentary (Freefall: A Reckoning for Boeing), Netflix's Quarterback, a love triangle heating up on Next Gen NYC, and a charter from hell on Below Deck Mediterranean.

On this episode of Check Me Boomer, father and daughter Dad and Isabella open with Bravo's Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, where the group leaves Orange County for the Beverly Hilton and the tension between Vicki Gunvalson and Gizelle Bryant boils over, alongside Vicki's surprise apology to Teresa Giudice, a plate-sharing standoff with Luann de Lesseps, and Kyle Richards navigating her separation. They then dig into Part 2 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion: the K. Michelle and Kelli Ferrell pre-reunion blowup, the Shamea and Porsha family feud, Pinky Cole's bankruptcy defense, Cynthia Bailey's new song, and a cryptic "device" storyline.

From there the conversation stays on Bravo. Next Gen NYC's love triangle builds between Ariana Biermann, Charlie Zakkour, and Liam Obergfoll, while Shai Fruchter and Brooks Marks find a rare mature reset and the news of Kandi and Todd's divorce lands hard for Riley Burruss. On Below Deck Mediterranean, Max returns as a jolt of energy while Captain Sandy's crew wrestles with an especially demanding charter. And The Valley closes its season with a Part 3 reunion centered on Danny Booko's drinking, Lala Kent's pointed advice to Nia, Janet Caperna's emotional moment, and Kristen Doute's change of heart.

Beyond Bravo, the two step into documentaries: a new Boeing exposé (Freefall: A Reckoning for Boeing) that left them both rattled about flying, and Netflix's Quarterback, following Baker Mayfield, Joe Flacco, Jayden Daniels, and Cam Ward across the NFL season. Isabella also closes the book on Stassi Schroeder's series House of Stassi.

Isabella: Hi. I'm Isabella. My dad is obsessed with reality television, maybe even more so than I am.

Dad: She's not wrong.

Isabella: This is Check Me, Boomer, a father daughter weekly dish on the latest reality TV. Welcome back, dad.

Dad: Good afternoon.

Isabella: How are we doing?

Dad: Great. Looking forward to episode 12. Good to see you. What do you wanna cover today?

Isabella: I have our regular Bravo programs. I also have a couple more notes on House of Stassi, which I finished, and then a couple documentaries. The Boeing Reckoning documentary just came out this week. I also watched quarterback, which is, like, documentary style, but it's, like, sports. Where should we start?

Dad: Ultimate girls trip.

Isabella: Alright. This week, we see the girls on their way to Beverly Hills leaving Orange County. They are staying in the Beverly Hilton, which, of course, Kathy Hilton, her husband owns as the patriarch of the Hilton Corporation, whatever.

Dad: Right. We

Isabella: see Kyle crying a lot because it's her thirtieth anniversary. And, of course, if you don't know, she's separated from Mauricio. That's his name. Right? Mauricio?

Dad: Yes. Yes.

Isabella: Okay. I don't know why I'm losing it today a little bit. But so Vicki Vicki is really pissing me off already. I don't know her well enough because I didn't watch OC, but she's oh my even just her the way she's talking to Kyle, like, I think she thinks she's comforting her, but she's like still about my divorce. Yeah.

Vicki is, of course, talking about how she still cries about her divorce, and Kyle's kind of like, I'm not sure that's really making me feel better. Vicki's saying it's always gonna hurt. Like, of course, I think Kyle probably knows that. Yeah. Just not helpful at all.

Dad: That doesn't surprise me based on watching her back when it was live or being recorded back when she was on it back in the day.

Isabella: Yeah. I guess she's just she seems to be terrible at reading a room. Gizelle was being shady in the sprinter bus. We is is this the episode where Vicki was also working in this yes. It was.

She's, like, working in the sprinter bus. So they're all trying to talk to her and ask her questions, and Gizelle is trying to, like, have a conversation about how shady Gizelle was and how Vicki found out. But oh, Lisa actually told Gizelle what Vicki said about her, about saying, oh, she's dead to me. Like, I can't be your friend anymore after that. So Gizelle is calling out and saying, like, Vicki, well, let's talk about it.

Let's figure it out. And Vicki's like, no. I'm working. I can't. I I'm working, which is annoying.

Like, why did you sign up for the show if you're gonna be working the whole time and if you're not gonna wanna discuss what happened? Like,

Dad: it's the whole I love that Gizelle called her out on it, and I'm I had told your mother there is going to be conflict between Vicki and Gizelle, and it's proving to be accurate.

Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. Well, I guess we didn't see a ton more of that conflict, but they ended up getting to the Beverly Hilton. And the rest of the episode is kinda them just having a girls' night at the hotel, which actually seemed pretty fun. I also wanna point out the entire episode, I really, really appreciate all of the throwbacks and callbacks, and they even had a whole sprinter van montage of all the crazy things that have happened in a sprinter van.

That was fun. Oh, Teresa also is calling out Vicki even though Vicki's like, I can't do this. I'm working. She's saying you hurt my feelings yesterday when you said I've changed the most, and you were yelling about paying your taxes. And I'm pretty sure Vicki just apologized, and Teresa was like, okay.

Yeah. Thanks. And they moved on. So great, I guess.

Dad: I I think that Vicki claimed it was she was referring to one of her other castmates about not paying taxes, which I don't believe at all.

Isabella: But I don't yeah. That's not what happened, Vicki. You brought it up when Teresa brought it up. So oh. Oh.

There also had a BravoCon flashback to when Vicki was calling Teresa the most overrated, which she was asked the question of who is the most overrated. She had to see somebody. But oh, no. This is when Vicki apologized to Teresa. Vicki was like, oh, you know what?

I was jealous of you because you have all these fans, and you're, like, such a good housewife. And so I'm sorry because that was just a comment out of jealousy. And that's when Teresa was like, oh, okay. Cool. Thanks.

Dad: She's probably not used to someone giving a legitimate and sincere apology.

Isabella: Yeah. So that was the one thing I appreciated from Vicki, where she was like, actually, yeah. I was just jealous. So sorry about that. Luann and Vicki were getting into it too.

This is once they're in the hotel and having their girls' night. They're like, put you have a party? Vicki, like, gets all mad that Luann puts something on her plate, I guess. I don't even know what

Dad: she I couldn't tell. Your mom and I were going back and forth. It seemed to me like Luann had chewed on something and then put it on Vicki's plate, which if true, I agree, Vicki. That is disgusting.

Isabella: Yeah. I agree, but I don't know if that's even what happened. I don't see Luann doing that. To Vicki's point, she was like, I thought Luann was supposed to, like, have manners and class. Money

Dad: can't buy you class.

Isabella: Money can't buy you class. But Luann was kinda like, Vicki, can you just, like, loosen up? Like, Lighten up a little bit. It's we're we're trying to have some fun here.

Dad: Luann must not have watched The OC because Vicki does not loosen up in the way that she's asking her to do.

Isabella: I guess not. Yeah. But it was funny. They all started making life insurance jokes to, like, get her to play along, saying like, oh, I'll fill out the form now. Like, oh, I feel like I I feel like I'm near death, Vicki.

Please sign me up for your life insurance. They were funny. I thought it was kind of sweet when Lisa Barlow started crying over how much she's laughing, and she made a reference to her show, which we love, Salt Lake City. It's coming back soon. But she has a good point that I do kinda feel like the girls on Salt Lake City, they never have fun.

It's it is constant arguing, and Lisa is like, this is what a friend like, friendships are supposed to be all about is having fun. And you could tell she loves some her some Porsha. Yeah. It kinda made me sad when she started crying in her confessional because she's, like, not used to this.

Dad: Well, I had a slightly different view. First of all, it's early in this season, so she has not had a lot of chances to interact and cause drama. When they had flashbacks to her other show and showed her having conflict, I think a lot of it's due to her. She never thinks she's wrong. She says things that are sometimes horrible, like I have more money than you.

I I live in a different way than you. So of course that's gonna cause conflict. So I anticipate that changing over the course of this season, especially if she starts acting like that. But maybe she's changed her ways, she's not gonna say things like, I have more money than you to these people.

Isabella: Yeah. I mean, to give her a little bit of credit, I'm not the ultimate Lisa Barlow defender. I like her, but even on Salt Lake City, she's not my favorite. But I will say a lot of the comments I think she makes are kind of provoked. She's not just saying these things out of nowhere.

Although she is very out of touch. She makes very out yeah. Unself aware, not out of touch or out of touch comments like when she lost her what what was it? $50,000 ring. Like but that's kind of what makes her famous, you know, is being out of touch like that.

So I can't blame her for that. Let's see. What else happened in this episode? They are prepping for an ugly leather pants luncheon, which was put on by Sutton, Sutton Strack, Sutton Brown, whichever one you wanna call her at this point, which that is a reference back to Crystal Minkoff, Crystal Kung Minkoff, who was on OC or not OC. She was on Beverly Hills.

She made a comment to Sutton of you and your ugly leather pants. So that's the reference.

Dad: And Sutton made a comment to her to Crystal about her ugly leather pants.

Isabella: Yes. Yeah. No. You're right. It was was I had it mixed up.

I know. Yeah. Well, I guess I'm off my game today again

Dad: too, but it's I'm off it's my game on every day, so every once in a while, they're just brief glimpses of being in touch.

Isabella: Yeah. I thought Sutton put on a nice little gathering. I mean, that little what was it? A scavenger hunt with all the references to Beverly Hills with the bunny and just creative. I liked it.

I know promptly for you, you're like, I'm bored.

Dad: But No. I I didn't clock a lot of those references because it was to some of the episodes long before I watched Beverly Hills, but it is a creative way to hearken back to the good old days for their show without it being just so self serving. At least it was disguised way of showing how great their show is.

Isabella: Yeah. Speaking of, if you haven't seen the early seasons of Beverly Hills, it's some of the best TV. I mean, when probably the first three seasons when they still had I mean, it was dark, though. Like, they had some dark things going on. They had Kim Richards, alcohol issues, Taylor Armstrong.

I mean, her husband was, like, abusing her trigger warning. I should have said that before. But, yeah, it's dark, but but also very entertaining if you haven't seen it.

Dad: I will consider going back to watching it, but that that might be tough because your mom has seen them all and

Isabella: She has.

Dad: Binging out there.

Isabella: That's what makes it difficult.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: Oh, okay. We watched the Love Hotel, and there was reference made back to the Love Hotel that Gizelle left Love Hotel, not with a guy, but I guess she was kind of talking to this guy a lot. And apparently, Shannon was seen cozying up with the same guy. So Gizelle made some comments on that about how that's not cool. Shannon wasn't even was Shannon even at this party, though?

I don't know. It doesn't matter. But, yes, Gizelle's not seeming to be thrilled about that. And then the other thing is Gizelle is getting some heat here for her comments about Kyle's currently separated husband Mauricio.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: That I guess she ran into him in on the Potomac trip to Aspen and said something about, like, if if he wasn't Kyle's husband, we'd be horizontal. And then we

Dad: She has a hard time figuring out, a, the difference between vertical and horizontal. But

Isabella: then That's Teresa. Teresa has a hard time. Of course she got it. She's like she she's like, oh, yeah. Vertical's like this.

And we're not on video, of course, so I'm moving my hands vertically and horizontally, kinda like Teresa was in her confessional trying to figure it out. Teresa's like, I'm trying to figure out what that means.

Dad: Well, she she was able to distinguish between vertical and horizontal, but she still didn't understand the reference to horizontal.

Isabella: Yeah. But I like that Kyle brought that up and called her out because Kyle is often not one to bring stuff up like that.

Dad: Gizelle So I like gave an apology, which I thought was a little bit out of character for Gizelle. She it was kind of a half assed apology at first, then she kind of realized that she was losing and was pretty apologetic.

Isabella: Yeah. I think Gizelle, you could kind of see it in her face. I think she was surprised that Kyle brought it up. She was like, oh, I'm kind of caught in something here. I shouldn't have said that.

You're right.

Dad: Yep.

Isabella: I think all of these women really love Kyle. Like, I know Kyle's not my favorite, but she must be a really sweet, awesome person to be around because they all really do love her. That's all I really had for Ultimate Girls Trip though. Okay. Got anything else?

Dad: No. Do you want to switch to the documentary just to mix it up before we go through the rest of the Bravo shows?

Isabella: Sure. We can.

Dad: Okay. We both watched Free Fall, a Reckoning for Boeing on Netflix. It just came out a few days ago. And in my notes, had, wow, the first minute or two of the show were just riveting. And it's I was also shocked at the number of employees who they're interviewing for the documentary who, at least one, was still working for Boeing as of the taping of the the documentary.

And overall, the show is scary as shit because I travel and fly a lot. And I finished it on a recent trip home to Cincinnati and then decided to look up what aircraft type I was using to fly Delta home to Atlanta. And thankfully, it was a seven thirty seven dash 800, which is an older model. The documentary focuses on Boeing starting from back when it was one of the preeminent companies in the world, not just aviation companies based in Seattle. And it was known for quality control.

The quality engineers had the ability to stop the production of anything at any time if they felt there was a concern about safety, which is what I would have assumed is the case for something like an airline manufacturer.

Isabella: Right. But then

Dad: it talks about how that progresses over time, and they tie it to a CEO who was brought in, who was an acolyte of Jack Welch. Jack Welch.

Isabella: Yes. Yes. That's

Dad: And he had these famous management techniques, including cutting the bottom 10% of employees every year, which I I see from a high level that might work maybe once, but then every year going forward, what if everyone's great? Right? The bottom 10%, how do you even define that? And then they focus on cost cutting and speeding up delivery at the expense of safety concerns, and they focus on two specific aircraft in the documentary. The Dreamliner, which I think is the triple seven, seven seven seven, or maybe it's a seven eight seven.

Then the

Isabella: seven Sounds 37 right. Yeah.

Dad: But also referred to as the Dreamliner and then the seven thirty seven Max. And it's just horrific. And I was so blown away by the show, not just that I would check my own aircraft going forward. I'm not sure what I would do if I was on one of those. I'd probably still do it, but I already looked up to see what kind of fallout there has been from war against the people who were working there, and it's still too early because it only came out a few days ago.

But I highly recommend it, although, again, same kind of warning that we gave about big chicken. If you prefer to be oblivious to things, this might be one to avoid, but it's it's quite shocking.

Isabella: Yeah. This one was quite unsettling. I don't travel as much as you do, but I don't love to get on an airplane either, and this doesn't really help that. Yeah. I think to your point with the new CEO, they they went a different route in the company, whereas before and even the employees talk about it back in the nineties.

They were all about quality control and safety. That was their main, main priority. And they've since switched to profit over all else, over safety, over anything else. So like you said, they're building this new Dreamliner, which they're kind of doing because they're trying to keep up with the European Airbus company who's doing a lot better now, I think, than Boeing. They decide to start building this Dreamliner, and they say they're gonna make it for $10,000,000,000,000 dollars.

Well, that's not good enough for the CEO and the leadership. They say, no. You're gonna do this in for $5,000,000,000, and you're gonna make it make sure it's on our timeline. So anytime any issue was brought up to the managers in the plant or upper upper management leadership, they get completely ignored. These employees, some of them even got fired.

And if not, then they got corrective action taken against them for pointing out safety concerns. Right. And so they're talking about how a lot of these planes went out with these safety concerns. They're talking about specifically some of these screws that went in had metal shavings going into the wiring, which could completely short out a plane and have it fall from the sky. And which, of course, happened with a couple of planes.

There was the Ethiopian Airlines and I believe one in Indonesia too. So you also see the family members of these people, which makes it pretty it it it's sad that you we know that Boeing could have prevented this. And you see these videos of the employees in the plants being asked, would you ever get on this plane? Would you ever allow a family member of yours to get on this plane? They say never in a million years.

Stuff like like, they they know these planes aren't safe, and it's it's very concerning. Yep. It's honestly good for these whistleblowers that came out and are trying to do something about it. I don't think anything's gonna come from it, which is the part that sucks. Of course, the federal government is kinda giving them a pass.

Dad: My only hope is that some of the airlines will take action or they'll realize that that their passengers are gonna start asking, wait a minute. How many of these pieces of equipment are you using on routes? I know that it's something that I might consider asking Delta, but I also may not do anything and just hope for the best.

Isabella: Yeah. I mean, even the one Alaskan Airlines incident where the whole panel of the of the plane came off, even though everybody was safe, the the video that came out of there of them just showing that the night sky from inside the plane, like Right. Is horrifying. Horrifying to me.

Dad: They they focus on how Boeing created and built a new manufacturing facility in Charleston, which I know was a boon to the economy there, but they point out sort of the obvious that they moved a lot of the production to Charleston and there was no one there that knew how to build a plane, which is nothing against the city of Charleston. It's just, of course, it's a very complicated piece of machinery and why would anyone there know how to do it? So they they did that in large part, if not solely, to avoid unionization, which was a problem for the company in Seattle where the home base is. And I I'll be interested to see how this is received in Charleston, including the newspaper. So after this, I'm gonna go check into it and see.

But overall, great documentary. Recommend it for those who are willing to watch something dark, which is maybe a great time to transition to something lighter. And quarterback, don't spoil it because I've watched all but the final episode.

Isabella: Well, mean, noted, but also we know how the NFL season ended. So it's kind of one of those things where it's a it's a spoiler, I guess, but we like, we know how Baker Mayfield's season ended. You know? So quarterback, this show has been on for it's had a few seasons now. For those who don't know, it's following NFL quarterbacks throughout their season.

This this season is it's Baker Mayfield, Joe Flacco, Jayden Daniels, and Cam Ward. Ugh. I I'm I'm annoyed at how much I like Baker Mayfield because, of course, we're falcons fans. We have to play him twice a year, and I hate playing that man, but he is so fun. The trash talking he does, I love it.

I think he he seems to be such like, a sweet dad. They show kind of his background story of kind of being a bit of a douchebag in college in Oklahoma, and he his wife is sweet. He I don't know. I just I like him a lot, and I wish I didn't because he's a rival. But he's very impressive.

Joe Flacco. I'm just kind of laughing that he's still even in the league, but good for him. And then Jayden Daniels and Cam Ward, they're kind of younger, so they're kind of more new to this football thing. We meet their families. They're both doing awesome things in their community.

Just a good a good watch. Light. It's not super heavy like the Boeing and the big chicken. It's just if you like sports and you like football especially, it's it's just a very pleasant watch. And that's all I really have to say about that.

Dad: I agree with everything you say, except I am still annoyed with Baker Mayfield. Yes. He's a great dad. I love his wife. The kids seem great.

But some of the things he said, I'm just like, I don't know if I could hang out with him. He just is kind of annoying. And some of it is, I get annoyed at certain cliches that they say in football, and he's like, says the same thing to these guys each in a row when they're just before they're getting on the field. And I hate that headbutt thing he does. It's just so stupid.

It's probably not great for his long term brain health, but Yeah. Sensitive to that. But it's fine. I don't dislike him, it's just kind of slightly annoyed.

Isabella: I mean, my biggest thing about him is I just I really do love the trash talking. I think it's so funny. Not I feel like not a ton of quarterbacks are getting into it like that with the defensive players. I like how he called out one guy and said, like, I don't even know who you are. Like, you gotta and he he even admitted.

That was good. He stole that line from somebody else, but saying, like, I don't know who you are. Turn around. Let me see your jersey.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: Right. I yeah. I do not like to play. I do not like it when the falcons play the buccaneers because I know that he is very capable of taking over that game and just destroying us. It's just me and always does.

Times. Yeah. We've beaten him quite a few times too. But, yeah, I I guess I I won't spoil the last episode for you, but it's interesting because his whole season comes down to a falcon saints game, and he's rooting for the saints. So he needs the falcons to lose.

And not sure you remember, but

Dad: I don't because I and when you mentioned that be at the beginning of this segment, I watched the season, and then I forget about it. It's just in one ear and out the other. I couldn't even tell you anything of consequence. That's why when I was watching the season, I didn't even remember that we won the game against them that they show in a prior episode. So

Isabella: Yeah. It's just That was

Dad: a fun damage, old age, or I don't care. You

Isabella: just you don't care about football as much as you used to. I don't we can cut this if you want because I don't want to put you on the I don't want to throw you under the bus or put you on the spot here, but I I remember that final Falcon Saints game because those are those are big. But it was yeah. Good show overall. It's always a good show.

They do they've done this before. I like it when they do the receivers too, and maybe they'll do a running back one. Yeah. I like it. Next.

Anything else? Yes. Let me real quick just say a couple things about House of Stassi because I did finish it, and it's still on the hate watch list. It kind of fell off a little bit towards the end. Like, it wasn't quite as interesting.

I did have a Kris Jenner count. She only said it one more time. So she really opened the show with a ton of Kris Jenner talk, and it that kinda fell off a little bit. But I wrote down a couple things. The the way Stassi's friends defend her to the death is a little bit bizarre, and I'm talking specifically about Taylor, who I can't remember what her last name Taylor Strecker and Christina Kelli.

They are defending this girl for I mean, they're they're very defensive over Katie and I guess how Katie didn't treat Stassi well when Stassi got canceled and Katie wasn't there for her. Katie was going through a divorce. So, like, this whole Taylor and Christina being all mad at Katie for not being there, it's because she was going through a divorce, and that it's it's just annoying me. Katie and Christina get into this big fight. There's lots of yelling.

Christina seems just wildly sensitive. Oh, this date this was crazy too, and I wanna get your feedback on this. This is the last note I have. Because the show, I think it ended with, like, Stassi and Beau just arguing and probably, like, a cliffhanger so they can hope to get a season two. But this one thing stood out a lot to me.

Taylor Strecker, one of Stassi's friends, she is married to a woman who is pregnant and getting ready to give birth. Of course, it's the other tailor. Okay. They're both tailors. These two married women, they're both tailors.

One of them is referred to Teddy on the show, but I know them in real life. I follow them. The tailor who is not pregnant is talking about potentially missing the birth of her child because Stassi needs her for work. And she has to like try I forget what it even is, but she has oh, it's this podcast that they're doing for Netflix, for the show, or for Hulu, or whatever it is for a show Tell Me Lies, I believe. This woman is considering missing the birth of her child to go help Stassi with this.

Is that crazy to you, or is that just crazy to me? I mean

Dad: It is crazy, especially because, like we're doing right now, you could record your podcast remotely. And not suggesting that she would record the podcast at the hospital during the birth, but why couldn't you just reschedule the podcast or whatever it is she's doing yet?

Isabella: The it's big Netflix thing that can't be rescheduled, which fine. But I don't think I'd care what it is. I'm not missing that. I don't know. And and the other thing, she keeps talking about how this obviously isn't her biological child, so she's more gonna be going through kind of an adoptive parent process.

She talks about this on the show. I'm not just saying this. She mentions this. I'm kinda thinking if you wanna bond with your child more, missing the birth is not a good way to start. I mean No.

No. But I thought that that was my biggest takeaway from the show is I thought that was bizarre. But

Dad: sounds like I'm lucky to have missed it

Isabella: and You're not missing much. You're really especially if you're not deep into the Vanderpump rules of it all, then I don't think you'd like the show, honestly. Okay. Are we ready for Atlanta? Yes.

I actually had quite a few notes for this episode, and maybe I was just extra tuned in than I usually am. But I was laughing at K. Michelle calling Andy, mister Andy. Just a dumb note. But the beginning of the episode this is part two of the reunion, by the way.

Yeah. We find out that a few of them, Kelli, Shamea, and K Michelle, I believe, They all met up a week before the reunion, and I guess things became heated between Kelli and K Michelle. So they're all talking about, oh, you're like meeting up to have this whole debrief on the reunion or not debrief, but pre

Dad: Planning session.

Isabella: Yeah. Planning session.

Dad: Andy does say that's allowed. He said some comment about, okay. You can do that. Bet you most people on these shows do that. Let's talk about what we're gonna cover and not cover.

Isabella: It's been brought up before, and I can't remember specifically on what shows. But, yeah, it's it's happened before for sure. So I guess at this meeting, Shamea is saying that K Michelle was trying to fight her. K Michelle is saying she was just slapping the table. We we don't have footage of this.

So this is just them talking back and forth. We don't don't know what to believe. So I was ready for them to move on from that. Then we get back into the Shamea and Porsha and their moms, and K Michelle is getting into it too and saying, oh god. It's it's so complicated with these two.

K. Michelle is saying Shamea's mom called Porsha a Jezebel while Shamea's mom was at a hookah club late at night. I Right.

Dad: Yeah. I I wasn't following that. They did show video, and I was just thinking like, okay. Move on.

Isabella: Yeah. They're losing me with that. Andy's got a good point with Angela. She she's shady, and she will she will throw the shade kind of out of nowhere. She keeps getting on Kelli for, like, being poor and, like, going bankrupt or whatever and closing a restaurant.

She out of nowhere, Angela Kelli, are you homeless? Kelli, of course, says no, but that kind of made me laugh a little bit.

Dad: That's that's low.

Isabella: If it is low, and Angela could get low, but that's what we need on this show, honestly. NeNe Leakes used to go low too. So oh, we get into Pinky's bankruptcy a little bit. Phaedra's very judgy, saying like it would never happen to her. Pinky's all like, well, bankruptcy is a tool.

I don't know what the truth is. Maybe you do, but

Dad: I do. I'm glad you brought this up because I was thinking about it when they were watching the show. Some of what Pinky said is correct. Bankruptcy is a tool, but I guess the question is under what circumstances do you use it, and then do you show any regret? And at least for her, she didn't show any regret, and she doesn't seem to acknowledge that people who invested with or loaned her money are going to lose out.

And she made it I think she tried to avoid it by making it sound like these were investors and they knew what they were doing, but you also shouldn't, in my personal opinion, be proud that you put a lot of money to work and then because of your involvement or running the company, it failed and that those people lose their money. I think people on the left hand side of the couches were trying to point out, look, if you just said you were using bankruptcy because things were unfortunate or you were taken advantage of or something outside of your control, but still expressed remorse that it happened to the people, it would go it would be a lot better, but I don't think she was having it. She wasn't ready to say anything about she wasn't expressing remorse and was trying to move on from there.

Isabella: Yeah. Which is weird too because it's I think that Pinky's shown a lot of vulnerability on the show. So for her to try and be, like, all high and mighty about it right now is kind of weird to me. Like, while they were filming, she was very upset about it. And so now for her to be like, well, no.

I like, I it was something I needed to do, which sure, it was something she needed to do clearly if she felt like she needed to do it. But I just feel like her tune has changed. Like, she seems to be almost proud of it. Yes. Which is fine, but it's just not the same energy you were bringing on the season.

So I don't know. I do think it's a little bit rude to her investors that lost out, but she also I guess I see it both ways. She has to take care of her family, and she has to make sure her other businesses aren't gonna fail, and I don't know. But that's a little bit above my pay grade, I think. How do you like Cynthia's new EDM song?

Dad: Didn't really think it was that catchy, but

Isabella: I didn't think it was that good, but oh my gosh. Andy Cohen. I don't know if I've seen him that excited in a while. The the facial expressions coming off of that man when Cynthia played that song, He was, like, bursting out of his chair. Like, that was the best part to me was watching Andy.

Dad: Right. He was more animated than I expected he would be.

Isabella: Yeah. I have seen that song all over social media since the episode. Like, Cynthia's posting it all over the place. And good for her, I guess. I mean

Dad: But it's unfortunate that she's not a main character because she's the most sane and grounded person on the show. No. I mean, I Maybe because she's not shown all the time. Isn't she a Friends of at the moment?

Isabella: I don't think she is because she's been on that stage the whole time. It's not like they brought her

Dad: her out in pretty sure they brought her out on this episode. She wasn't sitting on the couch earlier.

Isabella: Might be right. Don't know. Well, either way, I feel like Cynthia's always there in my mind, and maybe I'm wrong. But I do think she maybe started as a friend of and maybe tore I mean, she was on all the trips. You know?

Right. If you're on all the trips, I consider you a housewife. I know this is the same thing in Salt Lake City too. Like, I think actually Brittany is a housewife now, but she started out as a friend of, and but she was on all the trips. She was in every episode.

So at that point, what's the difference? Okay. What was the deal with this? And maybe we should cut this. I don't know.

This certain device that they were talking about, which we later find find out is they're talking about a gun that Phaedra had to call the higher ups that Pinky, I guess, had a gun.

Dad: As soon as they were referring to a device, I thought through context that's what they were speaking about.

Isabella: I had no idea what they were talking about.

Dad: I just figured that was the only thing that they would exclude from the show because normally a device might mean something that Kandi would sell, but they have no problems bringing things like that up on the show. But this, I thought it was interesting, and I did see something outside of it on social media. But again, I am just so fed up with the show that it wasn't worth my time to dig into.

Isabella: Yeah. Well, I thought was it one of them mentioned made a reference to The Wire, so I thought that maybe they were were they referring to some listening device that they were trying to show used to be on HBO. I know The Wire. I've seen The Wire.

Dad: No. I thought it was more of this isn't The Wire. We don't hurt people or something like that. Okay. But again, I was only paying half attention.

Isabella: Well, clearly, I missed the context of the firearm. So when they said the wire, I'm thinking, oh, they're are they trying to spy on each other? And that would be illegal. But Right. I guess part three is tonight or for those listening on Monday last night, it aired.

So we are not gonna be talking about that yet. But I'm interested to see how this wraps up because it was a little bit of a cliffhanger that Porsha went out and got a lie detector test to try and prove that Kelli is sleeping with a married man or at least that Porsha wasn't lying about it. I I mean, I kinda think that's a stretch. I love Porsha, but I think she's trying to find a moment here, and I don't think she's gonna get it like she wants

Dad: I don't think it's gonna land how she thinks, and she's certainly gonna not have Kelli sit for the same lie detector. And at most, it proves that she was told. It's not like she can say that she was there.

Isabella: Exact it doesn't prove prove anything. There's yeah. It doesn't prove the only thing it proves is that Porsha wasn't intentionally lying. Right. But even a lie detector like, a polygraph is not always accurate.

I think most people know that.

Dad: Right. So Even yeah. There's a limit as to what it proves, if anything.

Isabella: Yeah. That's all I got for Atlanta. I know you're over the show. Luck lucky for you, you only got one more episode.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: And Okay. I really quick. I I have seen rumors, just rumors, nothing confirmed, that they're considering bringing Neenie back. And

Dad: Interesting. Okay.

Isabella: Yeah. I partially believe it because she's back on Bravo, so maybe. Who knows? But we'll see. We'll see.

Dad: Let's do next Next Gen

Isabella: right. We're going out of order today,

Dad: I know, but I'm just fed up with Atlanta, so I want to go to something I I pay more attention

Isabella: didn't have a ton of notes for this episode. We we're kinda seeing still the whole Ariana Charlie thing play out, which is it's definitely building because we also see in this episode Ariana and Liam getting very close. I mean, they're kissing on camera multiple times. Liam seems to be enamored with her. I mean, I think Liam thinks that they're, like, together, together now.

Clearly, Ariana's not that deep.

Dad: Well, they show them in bed together in the morning. I thought it was an interesting time that they broke the fourth wall because they showed the camera people standing at the bed, which I thought was And then I'm wondering how you're going to feel if this plays out the way it sounds like it's going to play out, where she's playing two guys at once. Are you gonna hold her accountable? Because my gut reaction is if this was a guy playing two women, you would be on fire about it right now.

Isabella: Listen. I said last week that if Ariana continues to lead Liam on, I'm gonna have an issue with it. So I've already

Dad: thought you had said.

Isabella: Yeah. I've already said this, but also I don't know. Sometimes sometimes it it gives me a little bit of not pleasure, but it it's kind of satisfying when I see women in male dominated fields of playing others and leading others on. But, no, she's absolutely wrong for that. She is I don't know.

I we don't even know for sure if anything's going on with Charlie, but it really does seem like it. We haven't had actual confirmation from either of them, but it it for sure seems like it. So so, yeah, I'm I'm gonna have issue with that for sure.

Dad: At the end, Charlie does pretty much say something happened, although he tries to say, I don't kiss and tell, but he does.

Isabella: Right. That's why I think we can all reasonably assume that something happened even though there's no blatant like, no no one's said for sure. They've just kind of made innuendos at it. So Yep. Ariana's not saying anything.

I mean, Charlie, we're anything we're getting is from Charlie. Oh, to that point, Ariana is finally off probation from her DUI, which I think I've mentioned previously, so she can finally drink again, which is maybe where some of this messiness is coming from. If she wasn't drinking, would she have showed up at Charlie's place with all her friends at two in the morning? I don't know. I think, a fair question.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: Oh, they had this they had this cute little Friendsgiving, I guess, where I what I thought was nice is Shai and Brooks had a conversation where they both seemed very, very mature. Shai kind of opened up to Brooks, and Brooks was like, you know what? I completely understand where you're coming from. I'm sorry I made you feel that way, and they seem to be cool now. It was it was like the most mature conversation I've seen on the show probably.

Also good good for Brooks for, like, confronting Shai because I know that Brooks has an issue with that, and it ended well for them.

Dad: I agree. I thought that when Brooks said in the confessional afterwards, I didn't realize that Shai might have been as sensitive as me, which might have caused some of our disagreements. He did say let's do a reset and go forward from here. But that's famous. Right?

People say let's reset and then nothing changes. But I think with these two guys, maybe that's possible. We'll see.

Isabella: Yeah. I I think it's possible. I mean, they're not too deep. I mean, maybe Brooks is, but I don't think they're too deep in the reality world that they're gonna drag this on just for the show. I might be wrong, though.

We'll see. Oh, the other thing that happened in this episode was we find out that Kandi and Todd are getting divorced, which was a complete surprise to Riley, and I kinda feel bad for her. I think that I mean, maybe Kandi was planning on telling Riley, but it can kinda came out in the press before she could. But still, that's

Dad: not took it a little differently. I thought that she knew, but she just didn't know it was gonna go public when and

Isabella: how That's it probably that's probably more what it is. Maybe she did know, but she didn't know that it was coming out then. So of course, everyone's gonna be asking you about it. And I did kind of feel bad for Riley there, where it's like, my parents are getting divorced, and everybody I see in public is asking me about it, and I don't want to talk about it.

Dad: Technically, it's not her parents, plural.

Isabella: Yes. But They were

Dad: married when she was young, but yes. Yeah. Was somewhat of a father figure, they did show a throwback to prior years at

Isabella: the wedding. Throwback to the wedding was kinda made me sad again, all over again for Kandi and Todd. I know mama Joyce is happy though.

Dad: Probably.

Isabella: Okay. We we already talked about Ariana going over to Charlie's place. That's kind of where the episode ended, and we're gonna see how that plays out next episode.

Dad: Right. Okay.

Isabella: Anything else to add there?

Dad: No. Do you wanna where do wanna go to? Below Deck?

Isabella: I didn't have much to say about Below Deck anyway. I think Max comes in immediately, and he is just a ball of energy. He's so good for the show because of that, that he's he is so his French accent cracks me up too. It's so heavy and the way he speaks, and he's he's just all over the place, like, bouncing off the walls. But I kinda like that he's back.

I know Sandy loves him. These guests, these are some absolutely ridiculous guests. I'm I'm gonna the the crew is making some mistakes too, so I I will I'm kind of like, I'm not fully on the crew's side, but to be asking for the amount of food that they're at like, there's do they realize there's only one chef down there? I mean, it's it's really ridiculous.

Dad: I went back and forth on this issue, you're speaking about how they want not just the three meals a day, but they wanted to have, like, a cheeseburger and fried shrimp for a snack in between meals. I was on both sides of it. I get, yes, there's only one chef, but they're spending a shitload of money. I could see myself being hungry between meals too, but I don't know that I would consider it a short order cook kind of situation where I could say, I want this, she wants that, I want that too, but maybe it's something that they could have planned for more either be by the guests saying, Hey, we like to eat a lot. We want snacks after we do our water sports.

Isabella: Wonder if that was on the prepping sheet.

Dad: Knows? But going forward, if I ever do go on something, I might tell them, Look, I'm going to expect to have a snack in the afternoon, and cheeseburgers and french fries should be on the menu. Yeah. Yes. They were a little bit more demanding than the average group of guests that they have on the show.

Isabella: Yeah. I definitely think it's valid to want all these things when you're spending all this money, but to, like, demand it out of nowhere, I think is a little bit crazy. Like, if it was all on their preference sheet that they want snacks and they would love a burger between meals, which a burger between meals is a lot, but whatever.

Dad: Or the little snack, but I could see me doing it.

Isabella: I could see you doing it, but Yes. Not most people. So I don't know. If it was on their preference sheet, then they should have been prepared for that. But if it was just like they're getting out of the water and saying, I would like cheeseburger right now, then, yeah, that's tough.

But Jen got her wish. She got a tough charter. Yes. So that was most of what I had to say for this episode was just the guests being difficult. But then we see at the end, Nathan is being messy from outside of the boat, and he is texting Max and promising that he'll promote him to lead deckhand if he has Nathan's back when Nathan comes back from his injury.

That I that's not gonna go well. Don't think Sandy's gonna allow that because you're telling me that you're gonna get back on the boat, Nathan. And Joe, who has been bosun in your absence, you're gonna demote him from bosun to just regular deckhand when you've already promoted him to lead deckhand? Sandy's not gonna let that she's not gonna let that fly.

Dad: I don't think so. The way he sent that text or the fact that he sent that text and what he wrote made me question even his back injury. I am wondering if maybe he faked the back injury so that he could go home and stay with Gael and make things right, smooth things over, the challenges she's having with the baby because it's not something you can check. Right? Like and it's it'll be if it really was a severe back injury, it seems like they're already reviewing that he's gonna come back relatively quickly, think just missing one charter.

So it does make me question his veracity and authenticity on things all things.

Isabella: Yeah. Well, you know what makes me question his authenticity and really

Dad: his Him as a person.

Isabella: Him as a person. Yeah. So you've seen there has been news that has come out that he's been arrested for domestic violence. I believe I saw a court document that Gael applied for a restraining order. So I don't know if we can assume that it's the same situation that she was the victim of that, but it yeah.

That is has that has turned this whole show into kind of a dark situation, because now when I'm going to watch Nathan going home to Gael, I'm going to wonder what's going on there.

Dad: If Bravo edits anything in the forthcoming shows because the news has come out before

Isabella: the

Dad: season is over. I don't know that they've done that in the past. I know that if something happens while they're filming, they will cut out someone completely from an entire show. But this might be challenging since the shows are already quote, in the can, as they used to say.

Isabella: Right. And I think it's tough because we probably don't have that many episodes left. I might be wrong on that. But I think if Nathan was just a regular deckhand, they'd prob they probably would cut him out of the show at this point. Like, they'd go back and reedit.

But because he's not and because he clearly is part of the plotline, I don't think they're gonna edit him out, but I think Andy's gonna be saying something on Watch What Happens Live about it, for sure.

Dad: Yes. And he he if they have another season, I'm expecting that if the charges

Isabella: are Oh, he's already not He's coming gone. He's gone. He's the bravo will never hire him again. Even if it comes out that he's innocent, which I don't know about that. But, yeah, he's done on Bravo.

They're not messing with that again, which I suspect right. Right. I guess the last thing we have is the valley. Yep. So this is part three of the reunion.

The season's over now. I was kind of annoyed because we had this big cliffhanger last episode of what happened at the wedding. Apparently, nothing really happened at the wedding.

Dad: That wasn't just a cliffhanger. It was somewhat misleading editing.

Isabella: Massively.

Dad: Where they yes. Where they in the cliffhanger, they asked what happened at the wedding. Were you drinking at the wedding? And they showed Danny saying no. And then in this episode, when they asked during episode three, Were you drinking at the wedding?

He said, Yes. So I wasn't a fan of that. He admitted to drinking at the wedding, whereas the cliffhanger

Isabella: Yes. Made it sound like he was

Dad: He said, yes. I was drinking at the wedding.

Isabella: Well, my takeaway from that was that nothing happened. Like, they the only thing that they were referring to was that there was an after party that maybe Mia was trying to not tell Danny about, which does go back to, like, okay. Maybe he was drinking, and that's why they didn't tell him about him about this. But, I mean, the whole thing with Jesse, I guess, Jesse was there and went to go check on Danny, and he's in his bed in his hotel room watching TV. I don't know.

The whole whole way they edited that was very bizarre to your point and very misleading.

Dad: Well, I've heard it differently. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that Jesse went down and found him at the bar, Danny at the bar, in a shirt with no shoes drinking at the bar. Maybe I'm the wrong one on this.

Isabella: Leave us a comment. Which one of us is right? And are we valid for misunderstanding this?

Dad: It was very confusing. Obviously, one of us is way off base here.

Isabella: Yeah. No, I definitely wrote down I'm confused because I was confused. Right. Okay. Now what really started to piss me off is how Danny is trying to blame Jax for his drinking issues and say like, well, if Jax didn't come in last season and say all these things, then I wouldn't this wouldn't be a topic of conversation.

Well, no, would, Danny, because you continued to drink like that when Jax is not even around anymore. So that's a stupid a stupid excuse in my eyes.

Dad: It's the weakest defense that not only La la called him out, but Andy called him out and said, we're not talking about last season. We're talking about this season. Exactly. And by the way, it seems like you drink a lot on the show.

Isabella: Yeah. I mean, we saw that last episode, the Halloween party where he Danny admitted to being he he said, oh, yeah. I was pretty toasty. I mean, which one is it? Not not that you can not that you can't get drunk, but if you get drunk and act a fool, then that plays into what people are saying about you.

So even Nia had to tell Danny to stop being so defensive. Right. Yep. Okay. La la was a little bit extra this episode, but I kind of agreed with a lot of the things she

Dad: was

Isabella: saying. Like, she was making a whole point of speaking to Nia and saying, if if Danny consistently speaks to you like this behind the scenes and and worse because when you speak that way on camera, it does make you wonder how he talks to her off camera. So La la's just making a point of saying, if he speaks to you like that consistently, you really should leave him. And that really pissed Danny off. But I think it's a valid statement.

She said, if he talks to you like this, you should get away from that. Why is Danny so angry? She said, if. If you're not speaking like that, then then that's not what she's saying.

Dad: It's hard to follow because she was referring to things that were said outside of the show, and they're always Yeah. Misquoting each other, so I I just I thought it was a little aggressive, but

Isabella: Well, that's Lala . I mean, Lala's a little aggressive. Oh, the only other note, I'm glad Janet had her moment. I'm glad Andy gave her the space to have that kind of moment. Kristen I don't know about Kristen's whole apology there.

Like, because Kristen was talking about how, oh, the timing was convenient. This was on the season. She was talking about, well, why is she bringing that up now? The timing's very convenient. So when Janet is actually speaking on this again, for context, I'm trying to not be super heavy about it, but her kind of assault and trauma story that Kristen was kind of not taking seriously during the season.

Kristen has since changed her tune, which is good. I mean, I'm glad she's I'm glad she's changing her tune with that. Kristen's saying, I didn't know. That's her whole thing. I didn't know.

I didn't know. That's BS. I'm not

Dad: She had to hear Lala explain it to take it seriously, which I thought was pretty convenient Yeah. As an excuse.

Isabella: It is very convenient, especially for someone like Kristen who has had some issues like that before. I think if anyone's gonna be understanding, it should be someone like that. So that I don't know. I'm glad Kristen changed her mind, but I didn't I don't I didn't love that whole thing. I hope I hope she feels really bad.

I really do.

Dad: It will be interesting to see whether the show is renewed, and if so, what the cast looks like.

Isabella: Honestly, I don't need it. I don't need this show even a little bit. I'm good without it.

Dad: Are you putting it in hate watch category?

Isabella: Honestly, yeah. Probably. Okay. Well, I guess we don't we don't have much time, so maybe we'll move our game to next week, and let me know just a couple other things that are in your hate hate watch cat I know we didn't talk about this, but I know I could probably expect Atlanta to be on your hate watch list. Anything else that we're watching right now that you'd categorize as that?

Dad: McBee dynasty that Mhmm. I'm watching, you're not. I I'm less of a hate watch on the valley than you are, I think, but I get it. It's it's on the cusp

Isabella: Yeah.

Dad: Of hate watch.

Isabella: I mean, I guess I could put Atlanta on there too for me, but I don't wanna call it that because I just it that the show is just close to my heart. It's the one that Yeah. I started It's Right. It's too nostalgic for me. You like, all they have to do is throw in a NeNe Leaks clip, and I'll be thrilled to watch the show.

So I don't think I could put it there for me. But the valley, I I think I can put on that list. Alright. Well, I I think that's it. Right.

Did have a few names for a game, but I should I'll save them for next week because there are only so many names that I could pick anyway.

Dad: Okay. That's all I have. Do you have anything else on your list?

Isabella: I do not, but I know we have the Love Island reunion coming up. I believe it's August 31. So well, that'll be next week. We'll we'll we got another episode before we cover that, but excited for that. Okay.

And that's all we got.

Dad: Always Thanks, everyone.

Isabella: Leave us a review, please, if you like it. And we'll see you next week.

Dad: Thanks.

Isabella: That's our episode. Thanks for hanging out with us.

Dad: Thanks for listening.

Isabella: If you like the show, leave us a rating or a comment. It helps more than you think. Follow us wherever you're listening and on social media at check me boomer.

Dad: And tell a friend who'd get it.
