Rob crashes out at the Love Is Blind group event, Sai and Daisy go to war over supermarket sushi, and Bronwyn calls Britani a nincompoop. Plus: Gizelle’s apology tour on Potomac, Captain Kerry runs a tight ship on Below Deck, and a tough week on The Golden Life.
Love Is Blind Boston is down to the wire, and Dad and Isabella go couple by couple through episodes 5 to 11: Jax and Stew’s strange group event reunion, Rob and Michaella’s breakup, Blake’s Peter Pan moment with Erika, Wilson and Wilnie’s chore wars, Cam and Aneha’s slow turnaround, and why John and Sarah might be the one couple headed for “I do.”
On RHONY, Sai gets served, Daisy throws shade at Sai’s sushi, and Erin’s Havana Nights party ends with a “popcorn princess” blowup and a cliffhanger. On RHOSLC, the Jupiter party brings astrology costumes, Lisa and Meredith’s mantras, Bronwyn’s boyfriend loving “Hypocrisy and Bull$%&*,” and a Mary and Britani misunderstanding that’s sure to get milked.
Plus, Stacey and Thiemo get engaged again on Potomac while Gizelle, Robyn and Ashley spiral, Captain Kerry keeps a close eye on his bosun on Below Deck, and Luann, Sonja, Dorinda, Ramona and Kelly have a rough week on The Golden Life. A father and daughter weekly dish on Bravo and reality TV.
Dad: Good afternoon. Or is it... Oh, it's still morning.
Isabella: It's still morning, but it's daylight savings. So I guess it feels like afternoon. I guess this is episode 21.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: So if you're still listening, we're happy you're still here. And keep sticking around and give us a review if you don't mind. But we have a good amount to cover today, so I guess we should just get into it.
Dad: Okay.
Isabella: We have Love Is Blind, which I I think we're both fully caught up on now.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: Potomac and Below Deck and RHONY and the Golden Life and RHOSLC. I think that's everything. Right?
Dad: Right. Right. What do you wanna start with?
Isabella: Think let's start with Love Is Blind.
Dad: Let's go.
Isabella: So I kind of broke it down into all the couples, so we could kinda discuss it that way. But for context, my notes are going all the way back to episode five.
Dad: Okay.
Isabella: So we're now through episode 11. So there are quite a bit of... Quite a few episodes to cover and my opinions definitely shifted along these episodes. So I I do wanna start with Jax and Stew. I don't have much to say about them, but I did wanna say that I didn't see this last episode when I was talking about it.
So I do wanna say it was pretty cruel of her to not say to him that she didn't wanna continue things and instead making production tell him.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: I thought that was pretty brutal. I thought he took it pretty well though. And then I guess we see them meet up in Boston the the following episode where they... I mean, they, I guess, just agreed to be friends. But what's weird is that at the group event, this is fast forwarding quite a few episodes now.
They're at this group event and they're like sitting at the... I mean, maybe they were interacting, but from what we saw, it seems like they're sitting at a table, just the two of them, kind of flirting the entire time. And we didn't really get any more to that. Like, we didn't get any explanation of are they just friends? Are they maybe talking now?
I don't know. But they definitely made another appearance.
Dad: I definitely agree with your point of view about her being harsh and just bailing, and it made it crystal clear that she didn't like what he looked like. And... But she could have let him down a little bit more gently instead of I going to thought it was maybe a bit of she might have wanted to save face and so that's why she agreed to get together with him to... I don't know if they drank or not, but it was in some sort of restaurant. And I think she apologized, but she came across as much more normal.
But again, I kept thinking in my mind, okay, you're doing this to sort of repair your reputation. But then I'm glad you talked about the group event, which I'm sure we'll talk about a little bit more, but I wanted to say maybe I need to apologize to both of them because at least the way it was set up in the group event, they came across as the most normal couple. And it's like they should have had popcorn because what they were doing was just watching and commenting about everyone else and how people were... At least one person was going crazy. But in fairness, they hadn't been stuck living together and it's easy to just sit there and watch other people when it's not the same situation or set of circumstances you've gone through.
Isabella: Right. Right. I guess if they are getting to know each other further, then it's it's definitely not to the extent of the other couples. And, I mean, I think it's safe to say that they're at least not engaged anymore.
Dad: Oh, right. Of course.
Isabella: That's all I had to say about those two though. I mean, who knows? Maybe we'll see more from them, but I don't have... I mean, I'm not counting on it either. Let's see.
Let's talk about Rob and Michaella because spoiler alert, they're not getting married. They broke up. But I wanna go back and talk about them a little bit because I've... I definitely had notes about them. I wrote down that she's way more into him.
I liked the idea of them at first, but more because of her, because I liked her personality. So I I guess I just kind of wanted things to work out for her. It's weird that everybody is warning her about him. Like, even just the guys in the experiment are like, oh gosh, like, good luck with him. Like, that does...
That's not that wouldn't give me confidence in this guy. It wouldn't.
Dad: No. And she did say something along the lines of I knew what I was getting myself into a couple times and I didn't quite understand that. At least it didn't come through in her interaction with him in the pods.
Isabella: Right. Yeah. And and it really didn't come through even in like Mexico. So they're all saying all these things and we're not... Like the audience, we're not really seeing it yet until we do.
Dad: Right. Starting like when he introduces him introduces her to his friends.
Isabella: Yeah. His friend, his one friend, I guess his name was Jay, he ended up getting cut off by the bartender and Rob, I guess, takes it as like a personal attack for whatever reason. He starts freaking out. He's threatening to quit. He's, like, asking Michaella if he's ever been aggressive to her, and she's like, no.
No. But, like, why are you asking that? That's weird. Then it gets even it gets even worse at this group event that they're at where he's clearly jealous of Michaella talking to another guy, but he's completely projecting it onto her and acting like she's the jealous one. So he starts to just completely crash out.
He goes... He's yelling to the whole group, none of us knew each other a month ago. He starts to buy Diana shots while Michaella's crying in the bathroom. He's yelling at Sarah. And then, I guess they end...
They finally ended up going home and he ghosted her as soon as they got home. And this is coming from her. He got all of his stuff and ditched. And she, I guess, never really heard from him again. So, yikes.
Dad: I I didn't know if it was a combination pressure of finally figuring out that he's on a reality TV show that's going to be broadcast to millions and millions and millions of people and his friends telling him that this is all bullshit and why did you do that. I'm I'm sure he was having second thoughts, but it was a strange way to react on camera.
Isabella: Yeah. Especially because... I mean, I'll... He was going over all of his issues that he has, like his his father recently passing and, I guess, just dealing with a lot of stuff, which I I give you grace for all of that, but then why are you... If you if you're dealing with all of these things, then why are you going on a reality TV show to try and find the woman you...
You're gonna marry? Exactly. Think that's maybe not something you should do then.
Dad: Right. Right.
Isabella: But... Hey.
Dad: Well, at least she realized that he's not for her. I could have seen in other circumstances someone with less confidence somehow trying to stick it out because it's a TV show or otherwise, but she cut it off and it's done. And I'm glad for her.
Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. That's true. That's... Yeah.
So they're not making it to the altar, obviously. No. But the rest of the couples, at this point, at the end of episode 11, are still together. I I think the next episodes we're gonna get are going to be the weddings, but... Yes.
Okay. In a couple of days. Let's talk about Erika and Blake. Blake, who is boat guy. I have referred to him as Yes.
Multiple times in my notes. I don't have a ton to say about them, but I'm not sure I trust him. He wants to like, sail the world, which is fine. She seems not super into that idea, which is kind of why I'm not sure they... I'm not sure why they got engaged in the first place, but whatever.
There was one point where they're talking about kids, and he's like... She's asking, in the next three years, do you think you'll be... You'll wanna have kids? And he's like, I don't know. I don't even really know if I want kids.
And I'm like, did you guys not talk about this before? Like, what are what are we doing here?
Dad: That would normally be on a checklist of something to cover in the pods, I would think.
Isabella: For sure. Yeah. It's like
Dad: he's not familiar with math. Right? So when she says three years, he's kind of balking. And then she said, well, how are you... How old are you now?
And I think he said 36 or 37. And she said, so you're okay with having kids at 40? And he said, no. And she said, do you not know how old you are? Or something along those lines.
And it... Like, the look on his face was classic. Oh, yeah. That's how that works. The passage of time makes me older, and I will be old when I have my kids if I wait longer.
He he just doesn't... I thought of the Peter Pan description.
Isabella: Yep. Yep. He's a good one to put in that category. The other weird thing I noticed about him is he's got all of these, like, friends that are girls, girlfriends from, I guess, Saint Thomas, and some of them seem pretty jealous. They don't wanna meet his fiancee, and it's...
I don't know. The the the amount of them is a little bit weird to me and how some of them seem normal, but others seem like they are they are jealous. But maybe that's just me assuming that. But...
Dad: I think you might be assuming it because the two that they showed on camera are from Saint Thomas, and they were asking the questions that should have been... On topics that should have been raised already. Like, if they're thinking about moving to Saint Thomas, have you explained to her about the challenges of living in Saint Thomas? And clearly, he had skipped over that. And then the one that they don't show on camera, I don't know if she didn't wanna be part of it or meet her because she thinks the whole concept is crazy or if it's something else.
I wasn't getting a jealousy vibe, but it's not like we had the full picture anyway. He's just explaining what happened when she wasn't there for some get together with other people.
Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. Which then goes into kind of a cliffhanger of her saying that she doesn't really see their life together, and she's not sure if it's realistic. So we're gonna pick that up in these next episodes. But my prediction for the two of them is that they're...
I think they break up before the wedding.
Dad: Agreed. I'm not sure that any of these people are gonna get married.
Isabella: I have one that I'm predicting get married, but we'll we'll get to that later. Okay. Wilson and Wilnie. I, again, don't have a ton to say about these two. There's not that much there.
Their issue in the beginning is that they're arguing over Malaine, I believe that's her name, the other girl that Wilson was talking to who left. And I think she... Wilnie's a little bit insecure because he didn't end it with Malaine. So Wilnie was kind of chosen because she was the only one left. Of course, he he may have chosen her anyway, but she seems pretty insecure about this.
They seem to get over that though. Like, they kinda stop talking about it, especially when he's like, Wilson goes, stop bringing it up. And then I don't think they ever talked about it again.
Dad: It might have come up in front of her friends.
Isabella: No, you're right. It did, but they didn't really like dig into it, I guess. The other issue that they're having is she's not as clean as him. He seems to do a lot of the cooking and cleaning, and he wants her to do more, which I think is totally fair. She's very defensive about this though.
She's like, you wanna push me into a traditional role? She thinks that he's not giving her enough affection, and I don't know. I don't know where we go with these two. My prediction is that they don't get married, and I'm I'm... I don't know which one of them are gonna say no, but I I think it's gonna be him.
We'll see.
Dad: Or both.
Isabella: Well, yeah, they both could. You know once one person says no, it's
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: They're not asking the other person. No. Okay. Let's do now Cam and Aneha. These two are weird.
She's growing
Dad: on me though. I know that you work with someone that had a comment about her, and I I was look... That he wasn't a fan. And as I was watching, I thought, okay, I get that. She seemed kind of ditzy and kind of spaced out and just would say weird things.
But it's... To me, it seemed like she seemed to get more mature as the episodes went on. And I I don't like her, but I don't dislike her either.
Isabella: Yeah. I I agree. I think my issue with them is that they just... For a while, they did not seem compatible at all. Like, they just seemed awkward.
It seemed like she was talking a little bit too much for him. He seems a little bit more quiet. Her parents are not in the picture. They don't wanna meet him. I I wrote down multiple times that I thought they should just end it.
I I felt... I was cringing watching them, but they completely grew on me. Once they kind of got through the weird family stuff, they did start to grow on me at the end. So I'm... My prediction is that she says no and they don't get married, but I don't know.
I could I could see it happening. I'm just leaning towards no because her parents are not in the picture.
Dad: Right. There was a pretty stark comment where she said... He said, do you think your parents will not like me because I'm not Hindu or because I'm white? And she said, because you're white. Oh.
And I thought, okay.
Isabella: I guess I... Yeah. I do remember Wow.
Dad: He he seemed to take it pretty well though, all things considered.
Isabella: Yeah. To his credit, he says that he's dated a lot of... Like, different cultures of women. So this isn't... It's not like this is brand new to him, but he doesn't seem to...
I don't know. He's very go with the flow chill. Yes. And I'll leave it at that. Okay.
Our last couple is John and Sarah. These are the two that I think could get married. I don't I don't know if I like it.
Dad: Describe them. I'm I'm lost already.
Isabella: Okay. John is the guy with MS.
Dad: Oh, yes. Okay.
Isabella: Yeah. So Sarah is the woman, she like works in healthcare.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: That's the only descriptor I have for her. I really like her. Like, she seems really sweet. She seems cool. She, I think, is obsessed with him, and that's why I think they will maybe get married.
But he's got some issues. I did write down that these two are... Seem to be pretty different politically, but they also seem to make it work. Red flag for me is that he drinks raw milk and, like, defends it. I think that's bizarre, but I'm not gonna get into all that.
Dad: Well, and the production certainly did some selective editing when they showed previews of upcoming episodes. It made it seem like the raw milk deal became like a fighting issue. Then more importantly, when he went and met her parents and family, that he was gonna say something like he didn't believe in right to choose. And Yeah. He he he didn't say that.
He... In fact, he said some sort of joke. Not in... He made some flippant comment, but not in a way that was inappropriate in the scene. But they cut it up to make it look like he was much more far right leaning than they were.
But the... He got along well with her her parents. It was fine.
Isabella: Yeah. I agree. I think he did a good job with her family. I think she did well with his family. I know his...
He was worried because... That she isn't Christian and his family's super Christian. So, yeah, I guess they they do seem to be pretty different in that way, but they also seemed to make it work, and that it doesn't really get in the middle of them. But what I what I really don't like about him is a couple things. His his anger popped out a couple times and freaked me out a little bit.
I think the first time was in Mexico in the hotel room. He, like, got... And maybe this wasn't anger, but it was just a weird comment when she was like, can you, like, clean up your hair, like, your beard hair? And he was like, you're gonna have to deal with that. I did not like that comment.
And then when they got home, he was... He got angry again, and I don't even remember what the reason was, but he yelled at her for something. And I didn't like that either. She seemed a little bit concerned, but I guess she got over it. She has also said that she worries and wonders if he puts on a front.
So I don't know.
Dad: Yeah. I I don't know about the anger thing. I think that's another place where they did take advantage of editing where, yes, they were... It wasn't on camera when he said, you're gonna have to deal with it. I think that they just rehashed that.
And I thought when he got mad and was yelling, it was some sort of customer service thing that he was dealing with on the phone. And when they had like a debrief later where they're both very calm and measured, they don't get upset when they're talking about what doesn't work well. It's a pretty good example of how people can talk through things when they listen to the other person. But he got really angry with customer service. I could have sworn she said, I saw you get mad at someone else.
I don't remember her or him saying that he had yelled at her. And I thought said something along the lines of, that wasn't directed at me, but it still caught me off guard, and I'm not used to it, and I'm not a fan of it.
Isabella: Okay. Yeah. You're... I think you're right. That's probably more accurate.
I think my issue was if that's popping out even a little bit, even if it was valid that he, like, was angry for valid reasons, I still think it's a little bit unsettling when you see it come out on TV because you just kind of... And I'm not saying he has anger issues or anything, but you do wonder how he's gonna be when he's no longer on camera. I think that's kind of what she was saying, where she was like, I I do worry if you put on a front ever.
Dad: Well, it may... That's fair, and I think maybe I'm looking at it from my own lens because I will go off on customer service.
Isabella: I will
Dad: You're familiar. You've probably heard it. Your mother talks about how I yell from the basement. She can hear me upstairs. But that's usually me yelling at the automated system trying to get it to say, you know, representative.
Representative. Real human being, sometimes with an f bomb dropped in there. Or when I called a guy, Karen, yesterday in a parking lot, but I can tell you more about that off camera.
Isabella: Okay. Well, I think the other issue I have with John, his place was disgusting.
Dad: It was pretty gross.
Isabella: And I'm not even a clean freak. It was the worst I've seen on this show, and it was kind of the worst I've seen on any TV show not named hoarders. Like, it was pretty bad.
Dad: It looked like there's drops of blood inside the refrigerator. Gross.
Isabella: It's in his bathroom. Like, she was right to ask if he's gonna clean up his beard hair, because clearly he doesn't. So he's also... I... Yeah.
I'm not even gonna go into it because I'm gonna start sounding like mom. But I don't know. That would be
Dad: on a checklist.
Isabella: Like Yes.
Dad: Production says, hey, if you get far enough along, we're going to go to your place and show your place. Like, one guy lives in this... In a basement, but it seemed very neat and tidy. It was fine. In comparison to him, it looked like worse than a slob.
Isabella: I just really don't understand how if you're going on a TV show and you know how the TV show works, that if it's... If you make it and you're engaged, you're gonna be bringing your fiance to your place and it's gonna be on camera. Why would you not clean up before you leave?
Dad: Exactly. That's what I'm
Isabella: I ask this question every season. I don't get it, but whatever. Anything else to add for Love Is Blind? Because that's all No. I
Dad: I am sort of looking forward to the next episode or episodes for the weddings, but it's consistent with my theme on other shows is that at this point they're gonna draw it out. It's like, I don't care about your buddies and standing around when you're dressed before the wedding. Just let's get to the finale the finale. I I wanna find out if they say yes or no. Yeah.
Isabella: Yeah. I skipped through a lot of that.
Dad: Fast forwarding is your friend.
Isabella: Yeah. Okay. Should we do Potomac?
Dad: Let's do it. My first and only note that I took was going back to the same thing. Courtney and her dog, seriously, like... Or Stacey. Stacey.
Isabella: Okay.
Dad: Yeah. Sorry. That's how that's how fond I am of her. Stacey and her dog again make an appearance, and then the former husband uses it as a prop to tie a wedding band or a a new engagement. This is so thirsty.
It's pathetic.
Isabella: Yeah. That was... I mean, I thought it was a nice scene, I guess. She seemed happy. I thought it was funny that they...
It happened right after they're talking about how they pretty much broke up or got divorced the first time because she was spending too much money.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: And then immediately after that conversation, he does ask her to marry him again. So I guess they've figured out that issue.
Dad: Except it came up in that conversation. Right after they got engaged, he said... Or maybe it was right before the the ring came. But in the same conversation, brought up, you need to be more, I can't remember what the word he used was, but it wasn't... Oh, yes, I do remember.
Fiscally responsible, which she had no clue what that word meant. She tried to correct him and she said, I think you mean financially responsible. Well, that works too, but he meant fiscally. They're the same.
Isabella: No, I remember that. That was not a great look for Stacey, but...
Dad: No. No. Courtney, whatever.
Isabella: There is... There are some issues going on between Ashley, Gizelle and Robyn, like this kind of trio. Ashley thinks that Robyn's been talking a lot... Talking bad about Ashley. Gizelle seems to have told her that Robyn doesn't like Ashley.
Robyn thinks that Ashley and Gizelle tend to lose sight of real life on TV, which I don't disagree with her.
Dad: But... But you could probably say that about everyone on these reality TV shows. It's just unusual for someone to leave, come back, have a fresh perspective, and say, hey, you're forgetting how the real world works.
Isabella: No, that's fair. Yeah. I mean, these shows are they... Yeah, they're the Real Housewives, but it's only real to a certain extent. Right?
Dad: Right.
Isabella: So Wendy and Gizelle had a little lunch. I thought it was nice that Wendy donated to Gizelle's cause for the Brain Tumor Foundation, especially after what Gizelle called her, a scammer. So Wendy brought that up immediately. Wendy's not happy about it, but Gizelle apologized. Gizelle's been on quite the apology tour so far this season.
But Wendy's saying in the confessional, she's like, okay, I accept your apology, but like, I see you. I see who you are.
Isabella: Gizelle made a shady comment about Tia's husband on... Or or just, I guess, husbands on dating apps in general, which is of course referring to Tia and her husband. They... She made this comment on her podcast, and Gizelle... Or not Gizelle, Robyn had to edit it out.
Gizelle says, never again. It was slip up, but she's also kind of like, Robyn, why did you bring that up?
Dad: Especially in front of... What's her face? Who's Ashley. Ashley. Ashley.
Ashley is the one that said, hey, by the way, this happened on the podcast. It was edited out like Ashley classics during the pod.
Isabella: Yeah. So, yeah, Ashley ran back to Tia. Yeah. About the joke. And
Dad: Gizelle was doubling down there. She was trying to say, I wasn't referring to you. This happens. This is just a generic statement about husbands. Sometimes this happens.
Oh, come on.
Isabella: Yeah. Well, I think Gizelle is, like, getting upset that Robyn shared it and then Ashley shared it. And Ashley's trying to say that Robyn's the messy one, but, I mean, it's just... These three are a mess right now. Yeah.
I don't I I don't even really know what to say about them, but they're... It seems like they're not gonna be getting along completely, even Robyn and Gizelle.
Dad: Agreed. It's it's headed for disaster among the three of them.
Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. I I'm interested to see it. We've got Monique back. She's a friend of Cynthia Bailey made a cameo.
I guess she's friends with Courtney. Okay. So they're at Courtney's husband's birthday party. Karen didn't want to bring Ray, which goes back to are they even together? I think we're gonna see a little bit more of that next episode.
They had that in the preview. But... Oh, the other thing I wanted to say is, where are all of the other people at this party? Like, does he not have friends outside of the people on this show?
Dad: Good question. I think that he did have some friends show up late.
Isabella: Yeah.
Dad: Someone else made a comment, can't remember if it was Karen, know, like, what's up? Where are all... There are two tables full of settings, but only one table was filled. Maybe his friends are smart and didn't wanna have anything to do with being on camera for this show.
Isabella: Yeah. I mean, that would be fair. It it kind of reminded me of the episode of In the City where that one couple, they have their, like, marriage dinner.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: Where like it's just them at the dinner and so everyone's kinda like, okay, I mean you already got married and this is kinda just for TV. It just reminded me of that. I don't know. I think it's I think it's been good. I'm excited to see tonight's episode.
Dad: Me too.
Isabella: I didn't have anything else to say there.
Dad: Okay. What do wanna do next?
Isabella: I was gonna say Below Deck, but I honestly don't have any... Like, the only thing I have to say about that is the guests were pretty awful. Like, I kind of think we could skip... Unless you have something to say, I feel like we could skip that one for this week because there just wasn't much there.
Dad: The only thing I have to say is that Captain Kerry isn't putting up with any bullshit this season. It seems like he's calling out whatever the bosun's name is earlier than prior captains would have and is micromanaging. Normally, that's a negative thing, but he's doing it in a way because I guess maybe something tipped him off that he needed to pay more attention, and he's he's on it. So it's it's... That...
That's the only note I took.
Isabella: Yeah. No. I agree with you. And then I guess what do we have? We got RHONY, we got Golden Life, and RHOSLC.
So do you wanna just go in order for those? Sure. Okay. The RHONY episode, we start with Jessel telling Pavit about the rumor, and I think he kinda took it about as well as you can take it. He was just like, okay.
That's dumb, but okay. Sai also got served with divorce papers when she got home with her trip... From her trip. She was like, I didn't even realize that that's... That actually happened.
I thought that was just in movies, which I kind of agree with her, but
Dad: I guess that's Oh. How it
Isabella: Oh, alright. Erin is talking to Sai? No?
Dad: Sai or Jessel, I can't remember.
Isabella: Yeah. But she's talking to one of them and and she's saying that the reason that she was talking to her makeup artist about the Pavit... Or no, about the Sai divorce rumor is that he had already said that he heard it from some other event. And I just... Like, I I guess.
I get it. But I think I'm still on Sai's side there.
Dad: Me too. Yep.
Isabella: Daisy and Sai really get into it this episode. They start off earlier in the episode. Sai is saying that Daisy has always been a complainer. But I guess Daisy doesn't like that, so Sai's like, no, it's like... I'm like joking.
Dad: Yeah. I'm I'm just joking, but constantly in a complaining way.
Isabella: Yeah. But the the... We also have Daisy kind of defending Sai to Carole, saying that Sai really is a soft side deep down. You just gotta get to know her, but then she's also Daisy goes to Sai's place and is being shady about her quote supermarket sushi.
Dad: Oh, yeah. And then they were fighting over who had the best fish market that they go... They patronize in New York.
Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. That was a little bit later at Erin's party. But, yeah, Sai... I guess I'll just...
We'll get into this. Sai was trying to speak to Carole, And Daisy is like, well, Sai, like, be nicer. Like, hey, Carole. And Sai gets really upset. She's like, mind your business.
They end up really getting into it. Sai calls Daisy popcorn princess, which I thought was kind of funny. And then, yeah, they're really like deeply arguing over fish markets.
Dad: Well, you kind of left out the beginning part where Sai was across the room, Carole was having a conversation, I think with Jessel, I'm not sure who, and Sai is yelling, Carole, Carole, Carole. Know, trying to interrupt the conversation from across the room, and Carole was having no part of it. She's got this disengaged thing down. She just said, okay. This is not my vibe, and she just bails.
She just keeps walking away to leave Sai and Daisy to fight about whether that was an appropriate way to try to insert yourself in the conversation.
Isabella: Right. But it it... What... I did think it was funny that they went from that to arguing over who has a better fish market. That was probably my favorite part of the episode, was them arguing over their fish markets.
Oh, I also wrote down, isn't Sai the one that complained about the food being served at an event in her first season? Like, I swear, she's the one that they went to an event. It might have even been episode one.
Dad: It was cheese.
Isabella: Yeah. She was like, there's only cheese here.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: So it's it's a little ironic for her to be so defensive about her sushi. Oh, Hailey. Hailey was like sick. And I guess she said she's been sick all week and Carole came to visit her. But she's like fully glammed up in bed.
Dad: Oh, yes.
Isabella: And Carole did make a comment. She was like, did you get glam? She's like, yeah. I thought it would make me feel better. I just...
I don't get that. But, hey. I guess if you if you look good, you feel better. But I thought that was funny. Okay.
So Erin is throwing this party... It's a Cuban themed Havana Nights in...
Dad: Before you get to the party.
Isabella: Yeah.
Dad: I thought it was very interesting that they showed Erin and her husband in the Hamptons getting a rough quote of what it's gonna cost for them to fix the house. It was millions of dollars. Then they were talking about how much money that they had to put in the business and basically painting a very bleak financial picture. And then after the commercial, Erin's hosting a party at her house where she's got cigar rollers, catered food, someone playing flamenco guitar. And I thought, okay, maybe production is paying for this, but maybe not.
It doesn't... It didn't seem to correspond to being concerned about your finances and then having a giant party. But that's
Isabella: Well, mean, she did have it at her own house. That's fair. Didn't have to pay for a venue.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: But I I thought it was I kinda like that she had it at her house because like you see her kids running around and she's getting annoyed that they're not going to bed and that Abe isn't taking them to bed even though it's his birthday. And it it made... It was very real. Like, it it did feel genuine. Yes.
Like, is maybe what their household really looks like sometimes. So I like that part. It reminded me of like mom's bunco parties when we were little, and she'd relegate us up upstairs with you. Oh, we do see we're introduced to Devin this episode, and Devin's already kind of getting into some drama. She's saying that Sai said she doesn't like Devin because of her Instagram.
Sai admits this in a confessional, which I like. And Jessel told Devin about that that like Sai knew, I guess. And so Sai ended up apologizing, which was nice, but that was some weird drama there for a moment. Oh, I wrote that Carole doesn't have ice in her apartment. What's up with that?
That's crazy.
Dad: Or food, apparently.
Isabella: The last thing I had to say, and this is where the episode ends and we have the cliffhanger. We mentioned that Daisy and Sai are arguing. Daisy's saying Sai should be nicer, which I think is valid. Carole's... Meanwhile, Carole's, like, smoking.
She opened the window and is smoking in in Erin's house. Daisy then says that Sai doesn't have real friends. And I think that was kind of the the big one there that Sai really was upset about. So I think we're gonna see how that goes next episode. I think they're gonna be fine because they've been friends forever.
But, yeah, it was not a great argument there. No. No. Okay. Anything else for RHONY, or should we go to old RHONY?
Dad: Let's go to the golden girls. I know it's the golden life, but I
Isabella: just can't
Dad: help it.
Isabella: Thought this episode was not as good.
Dad: No. It wasn't. I wrote down sad but funny. That was like my overarching theme of the episode. And I don't know if I'm referring to just Sonja or all of them together, but it's it's...
I don't know. It's Yeah. It's tough. There's some tough moments.
Isabella: I am... I'm I'm I'm starting to see a little bit more of why the show they did reboot it. I mean, I still think it's good, but, like, the whole Sonja thing and... I don't know. It's just...
The the the energy is weird sometimes. Yes. So we did see that... We picked up back with Luann being upset that Sonja was putting her hand up her boyfriend's shirt. They're kind of talking...
This is Luann and Dorinda and Ramona. They're talking about how they're worried about Sonja, and they don't know if she's drinking or if she's on some kind of drugs. Ramona seems a little bit defensive of Sonja, and she's telling her daughter about it. That... But also that Sonja is kind of mad at Luann and Dorinda too, and is kind of ignoring them.
But Ramona clearly has a soft spot for Sonja, so she's gonna defend her a little bit more.
Dad: And stay out of the so called planned intervention that they were gonna have that didn't really happen very well. Failed.
Isabella: Yeah. So they have another yacht party that Ramona or someone that Ramona knows is hosting again. Luann is calling out Sonja for the whole boyfriend thing. Sonja says that she knows Luann cheats, which I mean, Luann, I think, has even kind of said they're in maybe a bit of an open relationship. But then, Sonja kinda goes...
I mean, she goes into the Tom of it all. She says, you married Tom, my lover, saying that
Dad: He would would have married anyone.
Isabella: Yeah. And saying he asked to marry me first, and that hurt Luann, like, pretty bad.
Dad: Sonja definitely has a long memory and does not... She holds grudges for a very long time. Ten years, in fact.
Isabella: Yeah. I mean, I kinda think she's ill. She's still even stuck on her ex husband, but we don't need to get into that. No. So Luann left.
Dorinda followed her. Then this is where it kind of like... I think Sonja went to apologize, but I can't I can't tell if it was the same party or the next day or whenever they were at brunch or lunch, I guess.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: Just kind
Dad: at the lunch.
Isabella: Yeah. It just kind of switched over to that quickly, but Sonja did apologize. But then, Kelly's whispering something about how like, oh, Sonja isn't really taking accountability. And Sonja hears
Dad: This it is a pattern. I think she says something like that. It... It's a pattern.
Isabella: It... And it is a pattern. I mean, she's not wrong, but also, did she need to be stirring the pot once they already made up? No. So, Sonja gets upset and tells her to shut the f up.
Oh, she's also mention... She mentioned something about Sonja's secret boyfriend, who Sonja had talked about earlier, And she's like mad that Kelly's like spilling this, I guess, but Sonja herself kinda spilled it. So I don't know. It's just a mess.
Dad: And then I thought it was very strange that Sonja storms off and says, I need a mocktail, which is sort of the way you say something when you say, I need a real drink. Right. But, you know, mocktails are... I've been thinking about it a lot lately because when people order them on these shows, they're probably paying the exact same price as a full drink, which I think is not cool. If it's just got juices and stuff in it and no liquor, I should get a discount.
Yeah. But why do you need a mocktail? Right? No one says, I need a Diet Coke and rushes off to... You know, storms to the bar to have one, which makes me wonder, was it really a mocktail when you go over there and tell the bartender, like, I'm gonna say on camera...
This is me a 100% speculating. I'm gonna shout out loud that I want a mocktail, but go ahead and give me a shot inside my mocktail.
Isabella: I don't know. Well, it's funny that I'm just laughing at your diet coke comment because I actually feel like there are people out there that would be like, I need a diet Coke.
Dad: Lisa from RHOSLC?
Isabella: Yeah. There is a good example. But, yeah, I... The the mocktail thing is weird. I...
You know, maybe the audience doesn't know, but you know I don't really drink a ton. So sometimes when I'm out at a restaurant, I am kind of looking at the mocktail menu, but I never get one because you're right. There may be a couple dollars less than the actual cocktail. So at that point, I'm like, let me just get a Coke, genuinely.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: Because that's what, $4, if that.
Dad: So... $17 for a mocktail.
Isabella: Yeah. It's crazy and it is. It's like, now I get there are some mocktails that have like...
Dad: Complicated preparations.
Isabella: Yeah. And there are some that... I guess I'm thinking of like Carl Radke's soft bar where he's got, like, some... I forget the word he uses. But, you know, I guess functional beverages is kind of the term that they use maybe, where some of them have, like, not magic mushrooms, but, like, you know.
Dad: Right. Or
Isabella: You know what I'm saying?
Dad: CBD or THC or something like that.
Isabella: Yeah. Are there are mocktails that have other substances in them. Maybe that's what she's kind of looking for. I I don't know. That's Ginkgo below by speculation.
Complete speculation. But that's all I had to say about that. I mean, I thought it was an okay episode.
Dad: Yeah. Just tough. It's a tough watch. Alright. We've got RHOSLC.
Is that the last Yeah. Okay.
Isabella: That's it.
Dad: Alright. So I did take two notes. So Okay. Getting stronger. I thought it was hilarious that Bronwyn's boyfriend, the name of which escapes me, thought that hypocrisy and bullshit was catchy.
Isabella: Yeah.
Dad: And when we're in the... They're in the limo together and he says it, and the look on Bronwyn's face, she did that turn of her head and like, oh my gosh. I I... That was great. It was classic.
And then they kept showing him, like, bebopping to the song when it was going on in real life
Isabella: Yeah.
Dad: Doing the thing in San Francisco. And then the other thing I wrote down was when they had the, what was the, the Jupiter party
Isabella: and Yeah.
Dad: The... Lisa and Meredith were having their horoscope kind of reading and they were they were chanting things to themselves. And I might just have to start doing this. I'm valid in all my feelings. I'm valid in all my feelings.
Hey, if that works, I'm open to it. If all you have to do is chant something to make yourself feel better, okay. I'm I'm okay with that.
Isabella: Yeah.
Dad: Those are my two takeaways from the episode.
Isabella: I think it's it's... I think that's what we would call a mantra. Thought I wrote that down. I guess I didn't. But I did write down about Bronwyn's boyfriend.
What you missed... What you didn't mention is that he was talking to Lisa at the party, and Lisa was like, come on. You've gotta admit that it was catchy. And we didn't see his response to that, but I think we know that he agrees.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: It was funny. I mean, we know he's not gonna stick around. Even Bronwyn on Watch What Happens Live was like, yeah, I think you'll see later that he and Lisa Barlow have a lot more in common than I initially thought, which is shady. So I think we're gonna see something play out with him, what... Whatever it might be.
Let's see. Okay. This... Yeah. Jupiter party where I get...
The theme was just astrology. Mary Mary was making me laugh, especially because she's, I guess, driving there with, I assume, Angie. And she's like, well, what am I gonna wear for Libra? A scale? And then it cuts straight to Whitney wearing a scale.
Dad: And carrying one around.
Isabella: Yeah. Carrying one around all night. Mary, of course, says to that that she thinks that Whitney always looks cheap. I don't necessarily disagree.
Dad: I can't... I don't pay enough attention to
Isabella: I just feel like Whitney, when when there's a themed party, she's the one that looks like she stopped at Party City. You know? I don't know. Well, Lisa's still talking bad about Whitney to Heather. Angie is saying that Whitney is really the messy one.
They're kind of going back and forth on who's messier, which is stupid. This was... Whitney and Lisa start going back and forth a little bit. Whitney says that John told Justin, John Barlow told Justin, Whitney's husband for now, that their finances are bad. Like the Barlow's finances are bad.
And that he hates Lisa. So that's gonna come back and bite Whitney bad. I guess Whitney said that not to Lisa. She said that to somebody else. But we know Lisa's gonna find out.
Dad: But what if it's true?
Isabella: I mean, it might be. It might... Even if it is, Lisa's still gonna freak out about that.
Dad: Oh, of course.
Isabella: She gets very mad when anybody talks about John and
Dad: Or her bunny.
Isabella: Or... Exactly. Who's the two pain points? Exactly. Whitney knows exactly what she's doing here.
Okay. We've got Britani trying to talk to Seth because Britani was spreading rumors about Seth. Do I remember what the rumors were? No. But they're rumors.
Dad: I do.
Isabella: You do? What was it?
Dad: It was... They did a flashback for the reunion and Britani said, oh, I have proof that Seth has cheated. And Andy said... Asked something specific about the proof. She said, Well, not evidence that will hold up in a court of law.
And of course, just says, See?
Isabella: Okay. I remember that.
Dad: That's it. That's all we know. We we haven't heard anything since, so it's not like she's brought it up.
Isabella: Right. Well, Britani then tried to approach Seth and talk to him, and I guess maybe apologize. But Seth No. Coincidentally had to leave. What do you mean no?
Dad: No. She didn't try to apologize. She she... That's how lame she is. She could've...
Or maybe she's just being authentic. She just said, hey. How are you? I know you don't like me. That's okay.
I like you. And he said, well, don't talk shit about you. And then you're right. The timing was bad that he had said before, I have something else to go to. And then that's when he left.
Now they did show off... They were mic'd still, and it was pretty clear he was leaving because of that confrontation. He said, I I drew all of the energy out of me. I can't handle it. That's enough.
So it's not clear that he left only because of his other engagement.
Isabella: Right. Yeah. No. I agree. Well, Meredith is going nuts on her once he's gone.
And there are just so many arguments going on in this in this little party. And the whole time, Heather's just like, whatever. I'm in my love bubble. I'm not getting involved. But Angie is telling Angie spilled the beans to Bronwyn about Britani's whole deed, search, and accusations.
Bronwyn responded kind of how you would expect being like, okay. Well, here's what it is. I am involved in blah blah blah, and I did get the money, whatever. Angie's also telling her that Lisa said that Bronwyn's relationship is a PR stunt. So...
Dad: I thought Bronwyn had a good comeback in the confessional saying, hey, if I hired someone to be my PR representative, then they're doing a bad job because they're recommending I have a public fling when I'm still married with someone who's much younger than me. And what else? Something else she said, but it it was a pretty good way to dispel the point that it was somehow beneficial from a PR perspective.
Isabella: Yeah. Totally. I mean, I thought that that was such a stupid rumor anyway. Like, PR relationship, what... You're not a list actors.
Right.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: So then Bronwyn does confront Britani. She calls her a nincompoop, which that's a word I hadn't heard in a bit. And then she said she had bad breath. Like, she was like, you need to step back for me with that, like, with that stank breath, which, like, that's that's a brutal thing to... Like, you never wanna hear that you have bad breath.
Dad: Like No. Gosh. I I live in fear of that. But also, Britani seemed to have an unnatural reaction to being called a nincompoop. That's like a...
If something's older than boomer, where that... That's like beyond boomer, right?
Isabella: Right.
Dad: What you would say. And it's it's pretty low on the on the scale of insulting. It's it's pretty basic. Right? So she's...
She seemed taken aback by that. Don't call me that. Yeah.
Isabella: It was funny.
Dad: It's not like she called her a whore. I mean, come on.
Isabella: Well, I mean, the... My next note is then Britani called Quai a whore. Do I... Why do I not even remember that? I wrote it down.
That happened. Right?
Dad: Yes. Quai said something about such and such whore, and then she's like, well, you're a whore. Like, there were some modifier to the whore that made it seem like maybe she's like, I'm not dressed like a whore? Or she's like, but you are a whore or something like that.
Isabella: Something like it was. No. You're right. It was something like that. But we didn't stick on that for very long.
No.
Dad: She seemed to take it. Okay?
Isabella: Yeah. The only other thing I wrote down about Quai was that I thought it was funny that she was laughing in the... I get... They're calling the astrologer a mystic.
Dad: Okay.
Isabella: That's what I heard them call her. But I thought it was funny that she... The... This mystic said something to Quai, and Quai laughed in her face. It was like, that's hilarious.
Like, not true.
Dad: Oh, yes. Because she and Whitney... The mystic, said that she and Whitney probably bring calm and reason or something like that to the group, and that's when she just laughed out loud.
Isabella: Yeah. So I like that. I like that part. Mary still will not stop talking about these flowers. And she...
Britani kind of tries to talk with her about it, but Mary's not really having it. So Angie asked Britani about the nursing home thing and like bringing... Like stealing flowers and bringing them to the nursing home and trying to get on people's wills.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: And obviously, thinks that's a crazy accusation and starts crying.
Dad: I thought it was not surprising that Britani cried. I just thought it was gonna happen earlier because when she and Bronwyn were going at it, Bronwyn said, if you really wanna go there, if you really wanna do this now, you're gonna end up crying. We've done this before. But then they separated and then she ends up crying for something unrelated.
Isabella: Yeah. It was only a matter of time before Britani started crying. I mean, I kinda do think everybody was coming at her this episode and for for good reason for the most part. Oh, Angie's then going back to the lips thing. I mean, how many times are we gonna talk about Lisa Barlow's lips and still arguing with Whitney over who's messier?
Like, it's
Dad: Yeah. If if you have to argue that you're not messy, you're probably messy.
Isabella: Yeah. I think they both are.
Dad: Yes.
Isabella: I don't know who's messier at this point because I think at this party, at least, Angie's been the messier one. Oh, Mary is not wanting to speak to Britani. Says you have a stealing problem. Okay. And then this is how it ends, and this is where our cliffhanger is.
Mary and Britani are kind of going back and forth even though Mary doesn't wanna speak to her. And then she... Mary says something about, like, I'm, like, grieving. And Britani says, it's not a thing. And this is being wildly misunderstood, think.
Because Mary Mary took that as like, oh, your grief is not a thing.
Dad: Right.
Isabella: I mean, my God. I think... I don't love Britani, but there's no way that that's what she meant. There's no I think that she
Dad: was just... She misspoke or she didn't hear what Mary said. It was a loud scene or something like that. But yes, there's no way that she was saying it the way Mary received it.
Isabella: Yeah. And so Mary's storming out and she's... Meredith's following her and they're kind of going over like, oh my gosh, she said that? That she's done. Like, how dare she?
She will never speak to her again. And
Dad: We'll see.
Isabella: We'll see. We'll see. I think it's definitely a misunderstanding. So
Dad: Oh, but they'll milk it. They'll milk it.
Isabella: They're gonna milk it. We know how this goes. Yep. But that's that's all I had for RHOSLC. So
Dad: And that's the last one. Right?
Isabella: It is. I'm excited for the next episode. We've got Potomac tonight. I don't think we have anything new. But I
Dad: think you're right. I think Southern Charm starts in a week or two, a couple weeks maybe.
Isabella: Yeah. I think that's November 12, if I'm remembering correctly. So not this week, but soon. I know that you watched The Widower like a... Like weeks ago.
Yes. I'm gonna try and watch that this week because I've been wanting to watch that. Maybe we'll cover that next week.
Dad: Okay. Sounds Thanks
Isabella: again for joining and Alright. Have a great week.
Dad: Thanks, everyone.
