"Shall we have one more kiss?": Love Island UK says goodbye, plus The Valley and Next Gen NYC

Isabella and Dad close out the villa for the season, still not exactly agreeing on Julia.

Plus: a stacked Bravo week with The Valley finale, the In the City reunion, Atlanta, Below Deck Med, and Next Gen NYC, a Big Brother update, and another episode of "Name that Bravolebrity" game.

Love Island UK takes its final bow this week. The old islanders return for a brutal judgment day vote, Mica and Samraj get dumped and take Tommy and Yas down with them, and the season narrows to three couples ahead of a mercifully short (for Dad) one-hour finale. Dad and Isabella dig back into their season-long split over Julia, with Isabella walking her stance back just a little and offering some grace, and they trade picks for the season's main characters, landing on Ellie and Aiden. The best moment of the night: Aiden and Priya, freshly dumped, saying the nicest things about each other at the farewell dinner before he caps it off with, shall we have one more kiss.

Then the Bravo pile-up. Real Housewives of Atlanta serves a Halloween party, a savage text from Porsha to Shamea, and a wave of nostalgia for the NeNe Leakes era. Below Deck Med sends Luke packing, gives Chef Joy a heartfelt backstory, and rides out a storm short-handed while Nathan teeters on quitting. The In the City reunion turns vicious, with Kenny telling Lindsay she collects apologies like souls and the Danielle feud refusing to die, and The Valley finale ends with Danny hammered and Janet launching a drink at him, "tiny fool!" included. Next Gen NYC closes it out as Charlie half-apologizes to Amira, Ariana keeps winning Isabella over, and Shai's upcycled clothing line gets left on read.

This week also debuts a new episode of "Name that Bravolebrity" photo game, with Isabella quizzing Dad on faces from Real Housewives of New Jersey and beyond, plus a quick Big Brother check-in on a houseguest driving the whole house crazy. And the documentary thread continues, as Dad reports back on A Toxic Love Story and floats a Netflix film about Kalshi and Polymarket. With Love Island now wrapped, Dad and Isabella signal a shift toward deeper Bravo coverage and more comparison to older seasons, and they're still asking listeners to send documentary recommendations.

Isabella: This is Check Me Boomer, a father daughter weekly dish on the latest reality TV. Alright, dad. Welcome back.

Dad: Good morning.

Isabella: Good morning. Today is Saturday, August 1. Correct?

Dad: Yes. And by the time this is released, it will be August 3, and this is Episode nine of Check Me, Boomer.

Isabella: Yeah. And we're happy to be here and happy to have you all listening. We're we're going to wrap up Love Island UK this week. That finale ended or that finale came out a few days ago. And we will cover our regulars, our Atlanta, Below Deck, NextGen NYC, In The City, The Valley, and then I have a little bit of a Big Brother update.

Dad: Okay.

Isabella: Anything else on your end?

Dad: No. I might make reference to that documentary that we brought up last week because I did watch it. Okay.

Isabella: Alright. And then we're going to try and get a game in this week.

Dad: Great.

Isabella: Moving forward, I just want to say we obviously have been very Love Island heavy. I think I've mentioned this before, but now that this is the last week of Love Island that we're going to discuss, we will be more heavily covering the Bravo shows. And maybe we'll have a little bit more discourse about these shows and how they compare to the older seasons and stuff like that instead of just a quick recap and thoughts. Feedback, as always, we're happy to hear. So if you guys would like to hear it one way, then please let us know.

And on that note, should we what do you wanna start with?

Dad: The Violet UK.

Isabella: Alright, let's get it all out there. So we started this week post the podcast thing Yes. Where I honestly don't even remember who was dumped from that, but it doesn't matter. We started with Tommy and Yaz talking about Tommy's ex and how he broke up with her two weeks before coming on the show, which is a little bit crazy because does that mean he was signing up for the show and doing all these interviews for the show while he's with his ex girlfriend?

Dad: It does seem a little sus.

Isabella: It's a little sus. And I do feel bad for Yasmin. She starts crying, so she doesn't want to look dumb. But I still like them. I mean, I think he's genuine.

Dad: Was one of the very few things I wrote down in my notes when she was crying at some point, or when she was talking about this issue, she said something along the lines of, I'm normally one who gets under one to get over another. I don't think she knows what that means. She just doesn't strike me as that kind of person, but I I just I thought, do you really know what you're saying? Yeah. Again, nothing wrong with it if she does, but I thought it was a little out of character.

Isabella: Yeah. We also had a little bit more of the Julia and Priya fallout, and Jasmine, I guess. Mean, Julia's just been an issue with all the girls. I am going to say right now

Dad: That I was right.

Isabella: I'm not You gonna were say you were right because I still she's still my least favorite girl. I just think I was a little bit too harsh on her. I don't think she means badly. I think she has a problem with her delivery and tone. And it could very well be like a language kind of thing.

I'm not sure. I know she's from Poland. I'm not sure how long she's been in The UK. We don't even know if English was her first language. It probably wasn't.

Definitely So I'm trying to give her a little bit of grace because I really don't think she's meaning to be as harsh as she is. I still am not sure if I'd be friends with her, but yeah, I'll give her a little bit more grace than I did in the last episode. I will say Simba's defending her a lot, and it's kind of irritating me because Simba does not have all the information. The thing I have noticed about Julia is I feel like she's a little bit meaner around the girls, but when Lorenzo's around, she's she's not acting like that. I don't know if anybody I don't know if you've noticed that or if it's just me, but I feel like she's a lot nicer when all the boys are around.

Which Mika even pointed out. She's like, Simba, you don't know what she's saying to us in the dressing room. You haven't you're not there.

Dad: That's fair.

Isabella: But I do appreciate that Simba's standing up for her. I mean, he doesn't have to do that at all. He's not involved at all. So it's nice. I guess he sees that she maybe doesn't have many people, so he wants to stand up for her.

Aiden and Priya. These two are still I mean, they're still going back and forth. We know Aiden has said he doesn't have deep feelings for her, but he's kind of like, oh, but but but they could come. Like, they could develop. I've just never really dated a friend before.

Like, I've never done friends to lovers. So who knows? Maybe it could happen. And Priya is just I mean, I think I wrote down multiple times in my notes, Priya, stand up. Just walk away.

Go home. What are we doing here still?

Dad: Well, did.

Isabella: Yeah. We'll get into that in a minute, but they definitely had a weird conversation where Priya said she went into it thinking she was going to end it with him, and then Aiden's kind of talking her out of it, but not even on purpose, I don't think. So she's telling him, Oh, you know, I came into this conversation expecting to end it with you, and I just don't want to. The conversation ends by Aiden saying, Okay, well I think that I'm going to end it then. Which like Priya, I'd be so angry if I were her and he had said that after all that.

But it's on her.

Dad: Well, also in fairness, he did say that and I had the same reaction of, wait a minute, why he was saying something along the lines of, I'll make it easy on you and I'll make the decision. Yeah. But then when they split apart literally and then he went and talked to the boys, he said Priya just ended it with me. So it's not like he tried to say, I broke up Which with

Isabella: I actually like. Yeah. He, I do think my God, I've been on him a lot this season. I do see a little bit of growth, a little bit. Okay?

I'm sure as soon as he gets out, it'll go to the wayside, but we'll see. And we will I have more to say about them too later.

Dad: Well, and the growth might be because, to your point, it was at the end, there's nothing else for him to do. There are no women who are unattached. He was kind of constrained.

Isabella: He was

Dad: in a cage at that point.

Isabella: That's not even what I'm talking about. I'm more talking about the way that he's handling it around the boys. Like, I could have totally seen him going in there and saying, Priya still wants me, but I had to cut that off. And he didn't say it like that. So I can appreciate that he at least has respect for her.

The bar is so low, but So to your point, they had this little dinner of the not the finalists, but we're at the end here. It's the episode before the finale. They have this dinner where they all dress up with nice dresses, all the men are in suits. Julia looked incredible. She looked like a super villain, like

Dad: In a good way.

Isabella: Complimentary. Yes. Aiden and Priya were making me laugh at that dinner. They were saying the nicest things about each other and that they really hope to remain good friends. Aiden made me laugh though because they're looking at each other saying all these nice things and he ends it with, well, shall we have one more kiss?

Dad: That was a good line.

Isabella: Yeah. And then of course they were dumped, which I think we all expected. We found out from that dinner that also Lorenz0 and Julia are exclusively dating. Lorenzo just kind of announced that and was like, Julia, I think you'll like this. He didn't ask her.

Was just like, yeah, we are exclusive.

Dad: Maybe that's what helped them in the end.

Isabella: Yeah. So spoiler alert, Lorenzo and Julia won. So that's context that I will discuss more moving forward.

Dad: I just like to jump ahead sometimes.

Isabella: I know. Well, I mean, I think if you're listening to this episode, you probably know that Julia and Lorenzo won. And if you don't, then

Dad: Now you do.

Isabella: Yeah. Now you do. Well, at this point, they won like a week ago in UK, so if you haven't seen spoilers, then wow. Good for you. But that ends that.

The next day, the old islanders return to vote out someone to dump.

Dad: Judgment Day is what I think they called it.

Isabella: I wrote down what Simba called it, which Simba's just cracking me up lately. He said, Oh, this is like retribution day.

Dad: He came out pretty much unscathed, I thought.

Isabella: Well, Angie and Simba did not get a single vote from the Old Islanders, which I really think says a lot about them.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: Again, know I've given Simba a lot of crap on this show, but I have also mentioned that he's grown on me a lot. And I really do like Angie and Simba, and I see them working, and I'm I'm rooting for them. So there were a couple things that came out of this past Islanders discussion, discussion, which I'm really glad they did. I I think we've mentioned before they've only done it on All Stars. I'm glad they're bringing it into the original version too.

Dad: I'd like to think that they were listening to the podcast and they took the recommendation. Again, by the way, still Ireland, The Republic Of Ireland, still number two country staying strong.

Isabella: Shout out the Irish. We love you guys. We love Ireland too. We've been there. Love Dublin.

Anyways

Dad: Beamish. Found it, finally, after many years of looking. The beer that I searched for for those many days when we were there. Anyway, moving on.

Isabella: Sorry. Yeah. Moving forward. We love the Irish. Yeah.

Okay. Jumping forward, Mika and Samraj were the ones dumped by the islanders, but we did find out a couple things that I wrote down. I thought the interaction with Lola and Julia was going to be interesting. I thought it was going to be icy. Lola was a lot sweeter than I thought.

However, she and Shawn did still vote for Julia and Lorenzo to go home. Julia did jump in and say no hard feelings, so I guess they're cool.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: Great.

Dad: I wasn't a fan of how Mika and Samraj seemed so defensive for every vote they got. I'm like, come on, just be quiet. Just move on.

Isabella: That was my next note.

Dad: It was really more him, but both of them a little bit.

Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. I wrote down Samraj . Samraj is especially very defensive. Mika was too.

I I mean, I get it. Like, they clearly they they aren't understanding why other people aren't seeing what they're seeing. I get it. Whatever. Tommy of now we do have two Tommys at this point.

Tommy who is with Yaz, who is still in the game. He's getting a lot of heat from all these islanders. And I guess it's fair. I mean, they they it's fair to ask these questions, but I just have this feeling that he is genuine. So

Dad: I'm expecting a lot more will come out about that now.

Isabella: I'm surprised we haven't seen the ex come out and speak. Right. And maybe she has. I know I'm not as tuned into social media for UK, so maybe she has said something, but I will be interested to see if she does. We had Mika apologizing to Charlene for her comment or laughing at her in the dressing room or whatever.

Charlene and Alicia thanked Julia for defending her, which was nice. I'm also wondering as this is going on, how long are they standing here? Because I noticed at one point Jasmine took her heels off, because they've had to be standing there for hours.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: So that sucks. Just to I know they had to they probably cut a lot out. But as I mentioned, Mika and Samraj end up getting dumped. I wrote down a good quote from Martha regarding Mika and Samraj that I think probably sums up how the Islanders feel about them. She said, You guys preach a lot on how to behave, but don't behave yourself.

Dad: I thought that was pretty pointed.

Isabella: Yeah. And I think she's more referring to earlier in the season, which is totally fair, but I think they've been fine for the last month, really, if not longer. So they all said no hard feelings. I'm not sure if I believe that with how how defensive they were, but they are dumped. They are told that they have to dump someone else to make it the final three couples.

So they decide to dump oh gosh.

Dad: Yaz and Tommy.

Isabella: Yes. Okay. Yeah. Sorry. I lost my spot.

Dad: remember. That's not even in my notes.

Isabella: Yep. Mika and Samraj dumped Tommy and Yaz. That kind of sucked. What was crazy though is, and with the context that you know that Julia and Lorenzo won, Mika and Samraj were very close to dumping them. So I do wonder if they would have dumped them, who would have won?

I don't know.

Dad: We'll never know.

Isabella: We will never know, correct. Okay, so now we're going into the finale. I don't have many notes on the finale. As you know, Lorenzo and Julia won. I'm not sure how I feel about them winning.

They were the only couple left that was not in love with each other, But clearly, the public loves them. I think it's mostly Lorenzo. Of course, Julia has her fans, but I think her fan base is a little bit more split as evidence between you and I.

Dad: Well, and you know my view on the finales. The best part about this one was it was only one hour long.

Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. I completely agree. And also what I like about The UK finales is they they do bring in all the old islanders, and, like, Maya asked them questions. Like, what's going on with all you islanders?

So we did get a little bit of tea.

Dad: Right. And that gets back to the logistics. It's a lot easier to fly people into where they're recording at Mallorca.

Isabella: Than Fiji.

Dad: Yes.

Isabella: I wrote down a couple of the little things that I thought were interesting. Aiden and Priya are apparently cracking on again. He said they had a kiss after After Sun. So, I mean, I don't even know what these two anymore. Apparently Ethan and Alicia are exploring, which is funny because they were two bombshells that came in at the same time.

So you're kind of it's an unspoken rule that you're not allowed to explore each other when you're both bombshells, but now they are. And then Tommy and Charlene kissed, not Yaz's Tommy. Other

Dad: Tommy two tones.

Isabella: I forgot they called him that. Yeah. Yeah, they kissed too. And then our results are first place, Julia and Lorenzo, second place, Jasmine and Kavan, third place, Angie and Simba. And the last thing I have to say before I wanna ask you some questions is, Jasmine, when Julia and Lorenzo won, Jasmine goes and hugs Lorenzo and does not hug Julia.

I don't know if you noticed that at all or if anybody else noticed that, but I clocked that. I saw that happening.

Dad: No. That's at the point when I just clocked out completely.

Isabella: Yeah. Did.

Dad: I'm done.

Isabella: Well, at this point, I'm crying too because, you know, I So, yeah, that's basically my recap. So now that we're done, I would like to know two things.

Dad: Okay.

Isabella: I want to know your MVPmain character, however you interpret it, boy and girl of the season. And then I want to know who you think is going to make it out of the final five or so couples.

Dad: Okay, gosh. My favorite lady, of course, is still going to be

Isabella: Oh gosh. Are you going to forget her name now? Ellie. Okay.

Dad: And then guys, ah boy, I'm not sure because really I guess Lorenzo? Yeah, let's go with Lorenzo. And then who's going to make it? I don't don't know if any of them will make it. It's just I think it's a pressure cooker.

We've obviously seen in from prior seasons that no one really lasts. Eventually, they all break up, so Not I guess

Isabella: all of them, but

Dad: I guess I'm gonna go with Julia and Lorenzo, just being optimistic because the fact that they didn't say they're in love gives me some confidence that maybe they're treating it a little more seriously. I know that they say, oh, a day in the villa is like a month in real life. Okay. Well, you're still not in there forever. And it's it's a little bit that cuts both ways.

So anyone that says that they love each other, especially towards the end, right after going closed off, right after going boyfriend girlfriend, it just seems forced to me. So the fact that they didn't say they love each other is part of the reason I would go with them. But overall, I wouldn't put money on any of it. I wonder if those are on Polymarket. If

Isabella: you Oh, could god. Uh-uh. Okay. I'm sure it is. Everything's on Polymarket, but yeah, I'm not in that.

Okay. The reason I asked about the MVP main character is because they discuss it on After Son, I just want to read out some of the answers. Some of them are weird, but some of them track.

Dad: Answers from whom? Who who

Isabella: From the panel on After Son, which includes Maya, and it also includes Toni and Yasmin and Shakira from last season. And I think it's also Tyrique from oh, and Casey from another season. I'm sure you have no idea who these people are.

Dad: No, I remember Tyrique. I remember Casey He's been on like three different versions of been

Isabella: on like four seasons. So yeah, they're all saying, and I don't remember who said what, but the people that were mentioned, not Lorenzo. And I think maybe they didn't mention him because he's like the obvious choice at this point. I think everybody loves him. Kavan, weird.

Simba, okay. Ellie, duh. Aiden, honestly, yeah. Mara, and Priya. Those were all mentioned.

I very much agree with Ellie, and I agree with Aiden too. As much as I got on Aiden, he kind of was the main character of the season.

Dad: Was the panel also asked who would last or was it just for MBD?

Isabella: They were not. They were I mean, they they have their own opinions. They weren't asked could they talk about who they think is gonna last. I think I feel the opposite to you, but I'm not necessarily saying you're wrong because I do agree that there are two ways to look at it. Yes, you can be in love in the villa, but you can also not say that yet because you want to meet each other's families and see how it works on the outside.

And I do sometimes think that that's the more genuine way to go about it. However, I don't think Lorenzo's ready for a relationship. I love the guy. I don't see him being ready. And I've just noticed that the whole season.

Dad: Being ready for his first relationship.

Isabella: Exactly. I just don't think he's there. I think he really likes Julia. I'm just not sure if it's gonna work out between the two. I I kind of see Simba and Angie lasting the longest at this point.

I mean, he really does seem to be obsessed with her now.

Dad: Well, time will tell. I'm

Isabella: sure. Time will tell. Yeah.

Dad: You can give us updates periodically as you find out things.

Isabella: Yeah. Of course, with these shows, no one's gonna break up right away. They're milk it for as long as they can. But eventually, it's all gonna come out. Okay.

Isabella: Can you just go in chronological order?

Isabella: Okay. So I just want to read out something that I took a photo of from Atlanta. Shamea had this Halloween party and invited Porsha. And if you remember Porsha and Shamea had a big blowout fight arguing about their mothers. So Porsha sends this text to Shamea after Shamea asks if she's coming to her party.

Porsha says, Girl, I'm not coming to your damn party. You are sick as F. Please move along. Enjoy.

Dad: Very pithy.

Isabella: This is why I love Porsha. I mean, was it nice? No. But it's messy.

Dad: That's the understatement for the entire show.

Isabella: Yeah. Yeah. Not a good episode, again. Yeah. I do wanna make a reference to an old Halloween party on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

This time Cynthia showed up dressed as Glue, which I thought was funny. She's the Glue to the group, whatever. But this reminded me of an older Halloween party from Atlanta where Cynthia showed up dressed as fifty Cent. She called fifty Cent. They still call her that to this day.

But really, the best one was Nene Leakes and Greg, r I p Greg, showing up as a cockroach and an exterminator because I'm pretty sure someone had called her, like, a cockroach or something. So just iconic moment from the show, and I miss it. I miss NeNe.

Dad: Back when it was good.

Isabella: Back when it was good. Yeah. So I guess the big part of the episode is George and his wife are at this party who this is a guy who one of a few guys, actually, who Angela has said that Shamea is sleeping with. Of course, he and his wife come out and say it's not true. Like, duh.

We knew that already. So I don't know. I think the season's almost over. I think I'm ready for it to be over. Atlanta, as you've said before, has the best reunions.

Dad: excited We'll see how many have parts it is.

Isabella: Yeah. We will see. I think it's going be probably three. But we'll see.

Dad: Okay. What's next?

Isabella: Below Deck. Sure. Do you want to start or do you want me to

Dad: I didn't really take many notes.

Isabella: You'll just comment on what I have to say.

Dad: Let's see. Yeah. So

Isabella: Luke is leaving the boat, as we mentioned last week. Sandy said she's, quote, grateful that he's leaving. Chef, I love Chef, Chef Joy.

Dad: Yes.

Isabella: I think she's really funny, she's really cool. She had this whole we got a little bit more background on her that she lost her mom and she didn't even speak about her mother for twelve years because she was so torn up about it, which I like when we get a little bit more personal information from these people. It just makes them more likable, I think. So, yeah, I really like Joy. She seems like a really great chef too.

She got this charter that they currently have there, they seem to be a little picky. At least

Dad: the one lady is.

Isabella: Suzanne. She, in the end, got a lot of praise from Suzanne. Regarding Suzanne, I was laughing because there's one night where she's so wasted, clearly. She's slurring her words. And one of her guys in the this is still we're still on the matchmaker yacht for context.

One of her guys is saying, Oh, you're pretty drunk. You should probably go to bed. She gets pissed, and the next morning she's talking all about, Oh my God, I wasn't even drunk. And he's all telling me I'm drunk lady.

Dad: Yeah. I I remember her saying that. That was funny.

Isabella: Yeah. So another thing I thought was interesting and unexpected for me, Cooper, who had the allergic reaction last week, he has been love bombing this girl for weeks, and I thought it was genuine. Now he's saying to other people that he's not sure what he wants after the boat, which is totally fair if you would have maybe not love bombed her. I mean, I I know that's up to interpretation a little bit, but I think he he really made her feel special, and to now say that he's not sure what he wants with her is I'm not a fan.

Dad: We'll see how it goes. They connected at that bar or restaurant, and he did say something to make her feel better. So we'll see how it goes. Maybe he just had a brief moment where he was questioning himself.

Isabella: Yeah. Now this storm that came through was crazy, especially with the bosun of the ship not even being there and being down a deckhand too. So Cooper and God, what's the other guy's name?

Dad: Joe.

Isabella: Yes. Cooper and Joe had to there you go. You're getting better. You are getting better,

Dad: Joe Joe Bradley.

Isabella: Yeah. Cooper and Joe had to take care of his storm by themselves because Nathan the Boomer is back with his baby mama and son, daughter, baby, whatever. Nathan then doesn't even show up until two hours before Charter, which is crazy, because the deck team has a lot to do before Charter. Sandy's pissed. They're all kind of pissed.

So that's kind of where the episode ends.

Dad: Right. A bit of a cliffhanger where he goes in to tell Sandy, I think he's quitting. I think that his wife has got too much going on, it's overwhelming her, and that he's gonna say, I can't do this. They're gonna be two decades down. That's my prediction.

Isabella: Okay. Maybe. I don't know if I see that because I think that at this point he's trying to make money for his family too. That's the reason he's there.

Dad: Of course.

Isabella: But I could see it happen. I could see it. I could also see Sandy begging him to stay one more charter. Right. Because they can't, that's a big, big boat.

They need four deckhands, not two. So we'll see how that goes, as usual. Anything else on that? Nope. In the City, part two reunion.

It's the end of the season. This is the last episode. There were a few crazy quotes that I wrote down that I thought were pretty impactful, I guess.

Dad: I'll see them.

Isabella: Two from Eoin, who is Danielle's

Dad: Significant other?

Isabella: Yeah. Don't even know what he is. Are they they engaged? I don't even know. But, yeah.

He told Lindsay, You collect apologies like souls. And I think this was mentioned last episode, but it Kenny really

Dad: said that.

Isabella: Wait.

Dad: Yes. Kenny said that.

Isabella: You're right. Again. I'm off today and you're on, You need to should we switch? Like, do you need to be carrying today or what? No.

Yeah, you're right. That was Kenny who said that, and that was quite the line, I thought. I mean, I think he's got a point. As usual, I love Lindsay, but I think he's got a point. Danielle said to Lindsay, and when it comes to for context, when it comes to Danielle and Lindsay, I've kind of always been team Lindsay.

I think Danielle has always gotten on my nerves. I think she's a bit clingy and too much sometimes. I really didn't like how she treated Lindsay and Carl's engagement from a few seasons ago, but this line spoke to me. She said, It feels like you're not done punishing me. Which is interesting because it's not like Danielle's done anything horrible to Lindsay recently.

Lindsay's keeping this list of grievances that she's still bringing up, and most of these things happened years ago. So I'm kind of with Danielle on that one. Like, I get it.

Dad: Especially because she said it right after Britney had that heartfelt apology, and no one on the left side of the stage was giving her any credit. They just kept harping on it, Britney? Bringing it the girlfriend of Kenny. Britney. Oh.

Isabella: Oh. Okay. You were on a roll.

Dad: Yeah.

Isabella: You lost it.

Dad: I misspoke.

Isabella: Was like, Britney. Okay. Yeah. And then Eoin did say this line. He said, Lindsay, I think the common denominator in these toxic situations is you.

That I do think was a little bit of a stretch, but what I'm going to say is Lindsay is dragging this, all of it. She's dragging out the thing with Danielle, she's dragging out the thing with Whitney. I get it, she's on a show that she's trying to make entertaining, and it's kind of not entertaining. So I get what she's trying to do. She knows how this works.

Dad: I also like what Eoin said when Andy asked, Hey, you didn't talk about your divorce and your history of your prior marriage with these guys, and he said, Right. I don't know them. Yeah. It was like the most real thing that people say in these shows. They kind of always make it look like everyone has known each other for a long time, but clearly that's not the case here.

And I thought it was just really blunt, and it made a lot of sense. Of course, just because you're put together on a show doesn't mean he wants to necessarily go into the gory details about his wedding, which is now subject to a pending divorce. And I thought, great, great line.

Isabella: Yeah. I think Andy specifically asked him, were you vague on purpose? And he answered, yes, I was.

Dad: Right. It was great.

Isabella: Yeah. I like that too. I like it when they break the fourth wall a little bit and indicate that, no, we weren't really friends before the show. Oh, I thought Amanda was a lot more normal on this than she was on the Summerhouse reunion. I guess maybe things have settled down a little bit.

She can more, like, understand how she's feeling, I guess.

Dad: Well, and I guess if you take her words at face value, when she she said something along the lines, when she's attacked, she disassociates, and so there was a less of an attack in this episode, so maybe that allowed her to to talk more.

Isabella: Yeah. I think if Sierra was there, it would've it would've been a lot different because Sierra is really the victim in this situation.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: Yeah, yeah, I know Kyle is too, but my God, I am not going to let Kyle off easy, as many people are. Kyle was a terrible husband. I'm not saying she was a great wife. He was definitely always cheating on her. He didn't listen to anything she said.

Like, she asked multiple times, can you please just, like, come home a little bit earlier? Or, like there there were multiple things that he just could not do, he didn't even listen to.

Dad: Well, and there was a line from someone on the left side of the stage who said, you were set up to be a hero here, and you're just digging in and making it worse. And he's consistently only listening to parts of what people say or conflating things, so he kept saying, you know how important music is to me, and how can you you can still be a DJ without getting hammered and making out with people on the floor and going home with someone and some stranger, bringing strangers home with you. They're not the same.

Isabella: Exactly. And I'm not sure why he doesn't seem to understand this. I'm sure there are plenty of DJs out there. I'm sure there are sober DJs. Like, being a DJ

Dad: Like Maddie from Southern Hospitality?

Isabella: Exactly. Yes. Like Maddie Reese from Southern Hospitality. Nice one. Who is actually going to Clemson soon, weirdly enough, but

Dad: For a gig? Yeah. Interesting. Okay.

Isabella: At least I saw that somewhere. It might be fake. You can like the music without also staying out all night, like you just said, and bringing home random people to their apartment who they don't know at all. The craziest thing he said though was when he talked about how and I cannot even believe he admitted this on camera. He really tried to get Amanda to read a book called How to Date Entrepreneurs.

Dad: And not only did he give her that book, but on this episode, he doubled down and made it seem like, yeah, that made sense. Was making an effort. I was reaching out. Right? He didn't say that, but he the look on his face was, of course, that made sense.

Isabella: We that's probably mostly why it was funny because he didn't even realize how, like, dumb he sounds. If he would have said, like, yeah, looking back, like, that was silly, he was like, no. That was me trying.

Dad: Maybe he could have given her how to date a DJ who drinks too much.

Isabella: Yeah. How to date a man child with an alcohol problem. I don't know. I mean, I don't like to speculate on alcoholism or anything. I'm not saying he's an alcoholic.

I do think he has a problem with knowing his limits. I mean, we've seen him on both of these shows. Every time he drinks, he gets so wasted that we can't understand what he's saying.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: And that's I'm sorry. That's not normal. And even if it is, it shouldn't be. So, yeah, I'm not gonna go any further on that, but I don't think he needs rehab or anything, but I think he maybe needs a little bit of therapy to figure out what mean, he's how old now?

Dad: 40.

Isabella: He's in his forties. Yep. So, yeah. But that's how the show ended.

Dad: Okay.

Isabella: Do we think they're gonna get another season?

Dad: Good question. I'm gonna say yes. I don't know what the viewership is or how big the audience has been, but I think so.

Isabella: Yeah. We'll see. I think it maybe depends on how this filming of this current season of Summerhouse goes.

Dad: It's probably also very easy logistically in comparison to Summerhouse because everything's in New York. Not that New York is cheap, but at least they're not schlepping photo or, you know, camera crews back and forth four or five hours each time to the Hamptons.

Isabella: You know, I bet they have separate camera crews.

Dad: Maybe.

Isabella: I mean, I have no idea how this works, but I would think that maybe they have a crew based in the Hamptons and a crew based in New York.

Dad: I don't know. Where would they put them up in the Hamptons? It's pretty expensive. I don't know. Alright.

Isabella: Yeah. So moving on. Yes. Okay. The Valley, this was the season finale.

Dad: Danny was maybe the most hammered I've seen him. And they they really the camera crew did a good job of focusing on him and how much he was eating, getting food all over his face, and him playing the characters and then flashing back to prior episodes and where he comes up with an accent. Boy, I'm stick this just confirms my view. That guy would just annoy the f out of me. I could not be around him for any time.

And neither can the people on the show, they're just constantly except for Jesse. I don't know why

Isabella: he And Kristen.

Dad: Right. But he was stumbling towards the end, right? And he couldn't stand up straight when he was standing at the bar.

Isabella: He had to go lay down. Yeah. Even the other people at the party were like, oh, yeah, I think he had to go pass out on the couch. Like, they all he has I'm sorry. He has no redeeming qualities.

Like, I I can't even think of one. I guess his wife loves him. I don't really see how, but what I don't know. Maybe he's a good dad. I hope so.

Dad: Could be. Yeah.

Isabella: So we see a lot of two face stuff going on. I think Zack and Kristen especially, they're like, acting one way towards Janet and then going to their other friends and, like, saying differently. Their other friends, I mean, Zack, Kristen, Danny, Nia, pretty much. And then Janet is more on the side of La la and Brittany, where La la is very much defending Janet. Brittany is even starting to defend Janet.

Yeah. They're arguing over, like, what Kristen actually said. I don't know. I think at the end of the day, it was more tone than anything. Kristen's tone when she's talking about Zack and who who else were they throwing under the bus?

Was it Lacy? Yeah, Lacy. Zack and Lacy. When they're talking about them and how they feel about Janet versus how they speak about her behind the scenes, it's it's a lot. I'm not really sure who's even right, but I'm definitely on Janet's side.

Right. You're also on Janet's side?

Dad: Well, at least in that context, in that argument, I still don't know about her overall as a person, but the show evolves on a week to week basis. Think the most exciting part of the show was when they gave a preview of the reunion. Three parts, which I'm shocked for this show that it will be a three part reunion.

Isabella: Yeah. I mean, there's content there. It's just maybe not our favorite to watch. Yeah, so as you mentioned, Danny's wasted. He goes to lay on this couch where Jason, Janet's husband, who tore his ACL, guess, is still recovering, so he has to put his leg up on the couch.

So he and Danny start talking for the first time in a while. And Danny's oh, then Lala comes in too and joins the conversation. Then Janet comes in too. So Danny is telling La la that he never said the husband stuff about her. One of the other either Jason or Janet jumps in and says, No, you definitely did say that.

I was there. Like, you said that.

Dad: And then he apologized

Isabella: for Yeah. I think he did finally say, Okay, yeah. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that.

Dad: And I'm not jumping in to give him any kind of benefit of the doubt or It's just that he acknowledged then that he had said it, so he must know he's wrong.

Isabella: Yeah. So Danny and Jason kind of get into it. Jason's of course defending his wife. I mean, I don't even know what they're arguing about at this point. They're just really going back and forth.

Jason starts to get a little bit more angry, and Danny goes, what are you going to do with your bum leg? And Janet loses it. She throws her drink at Danny and calls him a tiny fool, which is one of my favorite quotes of the episode. Everyone is so mad at Janet now. Now Janet's the bad guy, which, yeah, I get it.

I think he deserved it.

Dad: Yeah, they acted like she had stabbed him or something.

Isabella: I know.

Dad: So, oh my gosh, I can't believe and she didn't really get him very well. It looked like she missed.

Isabella: Right. I didn't even I thought she missed too. I didn't even know there was anything in the cup.

Dad: Oh my gosh. I smell like alcohol now.

Isabella: You smelled like alcohol Yeah. You were breathing it. I mean, my God. Well, what's the hypocrisy here, though? Kristen is acting all high and mighty, and yeah, Kristen has grown up a lot.

But, Kristen, there are multiple instances of you throwing drinks, punching people in the face. You've punched people in the face before, and now you're gonna be all high and mighty about Janet throwing a drink at Danny, who deserved it. Right. Yeah. I don't know why everyone's even Lala's like, oh, Janet lost me when she did that.

Like, okay, I get it. I get it. But I don't know.

Dad: It's It's getting to be so much I'm starting to lose track of who's fighting with who on the periphery of some of these bigger fights.

Isabella: Yeah. Agree. That's why I'm saying, like, I don't even know what they're fighting about anymore. Like, they're fighting, but I don't even know what what it's about anymore. The last thing I had to say is the season kind of ends with Danny in his confessional being like, you know, I'm a really good guy.

And I just have to say

Dad: I'm a stand up guy with integrity or something along those lines.

Isabella: If you have to say that, you're not a good guy. It should be obvious. Maybe you disagree with me, but

Dad: No, I think that's a good point, and he might be 100% right when he's sober.

Isabella: Yeah. And maybe behind the scenes when he's not on camera. Who knows? Maybe he is playing it up a little bit for the camera. We have no idea.

But if you feel like you need to defend yourself and say you're a good guy, you're probably not. I've never heard you say, I'm a good guy. I'm a really good guy. Because it's obvious.

Dad: Well, it's weird to say something positive about yourself to begin with.

Isabella: Yeah. It's it's very it's bizarre. It's just bizarre. So I'm excited for the reunion, I guess. I'm not sure how I feel about the show overall, but I'm excited for the reunion.

Dad: Me too. But I am with with a lot of shows. That's usually the redeeming part of the season.

Isabella: It is. Yeah. Okay. Moving on.

Dad: Yes.

Isabella: Next Gen NYC. Also not the greatest episode. No. We've got Shai Shay. I think it's Shai.

Dad: It's definitely Shai.

Isabella: He's meddling with Hudson and telling Hudson all about what Ariana's doing. Meanwhile, he's saying Ariana's cute behind the scenes, so make up your mind. Ava and her boyfriend broke up. Fast forward to today, she's seen with Kyle Cooke all the time. Kyle Cook from In The City and Summer House, who we just talked about, is the DJ and maybe has a drinking problem.

Dad: Wait, I thought he was with Salley, or is it both? Both. Oh, okay.

Isabella: I think he's more seen with Salley, but he has been seen multiple times with Ava too. Anna it's

Dad: inconvenient, she's in New York.

Isabella: She is. I don't like that age gap, but whatever.

Dad: She could do a lot better.

Isabella: She also I guess my rule is that if you're over 25 years old, you can make your own decision, so whatever. I just I think it's kinda creepy on Kyle's part. Ava's also still living with that boyfriend, which sucks. Maybe not present day, I hope she's moved out since, but on the show she was. Okay.

I wrote down that Charlie's trying to be nice and apologize to Amira and meeting up, and I like that. He's treating it correctly. He's doing the right thing there. I think he did say that. Like, I think he said that about her boyfriend.

Dad: Right. It's so specific for what's her face. Who knocked on

Isabella: him? Georgia.

Dad: Dreight. For Georgia to have come up with that out of thin air seems unlikely. And he must see that too. That's why he finally says, I I may have said something like that.

Isabella: Yeah. So I was gonna say I had that note before because Charlie's initially saying, I can't believe Georgia would say that. I didn't say anything. I would never say anything like that, and Georgia's just trying to throw me under the bus. But yeah, fast forward to when they are talking and Amira says exactly what she heard from Georgia, Charlie even says, You know, that sounds like something I might have

Dad: said. And At the I same time he's blaming Georgia for the whole thing. Know, she's clearly just trying to get you against me and to be a bad person? Maybe, but you still said it, so can you just leave that part out of your apology?

Isabella: Yeah. I mean, to be fair, I think he handled it pretty well.

Dad: At least in this episode. There is a bit of preview at the end of the episode where they show a lot of stuff to come up on the season, and it's pretty clear it doesn't end well between Charlie and Amira.

Isabella: Okay. Well, yeah. I think it's going be really bad between Charlie and Georgia too. Charlie as is one of those guys that's extremely, extremely entertaining, but he's probably not a great person. I hesitate to say that because we don't know him.

The way see But what we see on the show is he's yeah, he's very entertaining, but probably not a good guy, a la Jax Taylor, a la Tom Sandoval. Don't know.

Dad: Boomer, that's a yeah. Those are some pretty that's a bad cast of characters to put him in with. And to your point, he maybe he's playing the heel kind of like in pro wrestling. Right? He's decided, I want to be the one that causes controversy, and maybe he's not as bad as what he's portraying himself.

Who knows?

Isabella: That's why I hesitate to say it, just because we haven't seen anything actually harmful. Yes, the thing he said to Amira was not cool, but she seems to have at least begun to forgive him. He hasn't done anything to actually harm anyone, which is why I do hesitate to put him in that group. But my point is that he's one of those guys that might not be a great guy, but I'm gonna enjoy watching him regardless. Right.

So, yeah, they can't get rid of him. They really can't. Oh, my gosh. We had a Teresa and Joe Giudice siding today. And we have Gia crying over how her dad is living in The Bahamas, was deported.

I mean, girl, like, I feel bad for you, but he didn't pay his taxes. What do you I mean

Dad: Well, that's what they said on the show, but that's not what happened. It was way more than not filing tax returns. They committed mortgage fraud, if I'm remembering Yeah.

Isabella: I'm I'm summarizing, but yeah. She's writing Donald Trump letters. I wrote down my notes. Girl, he is not reading your letters.

Dad: Who knows? I know

Isabella: he's done some crazy stuff and pardoned some people, but I don't think he's I don't know. He has a reality TV guy, so who knows? Maybe that's what G is thinking. But clearly it's not.

Dad: Hasn't worked yet.

Isabella: Yeah. Ariana Liam had this little party, I guess, at his parents' house, or like a dinner party or whatever. Ariana is nervous to go. She's like, Oh, I have a bunch of tattoos, what if they don't like it? The quote that I liked was, What if they don't like filler?

I'm full of it. Which I just like because so many women are not open about that kind of stuff, and Ariana clearly is very open about it and is kind of using it as a joke in passing, and I just think it's very real of her. She is my favorite on the show. Ariana is the most normal and I think the coolest on the show. It's so crazy who her mother is.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: Her mother is insane. Don't know

Dad: In a what good way.

Isabella: Yes. But also in a bad way. I mean, she's gambled away all her money. She's stolen

Dad: Allegedly.

Isabella: I mean.

Dad: Well, who knows, but Ariana has not been she has not withheld too much, and she's been pretty forthright about what her mom has done.

Isabella: Yeah. I mean, she had to give her mom money, which that her mom was something there that was discussed last season. Like, it was sketchy. Like, I don't think I think her mom more so took her money. Like, I don't think it was an agreed upon thing, which is a problem.

Riley. Riley, we got her a little bit this episode. She's been not on the show much at all. She's talking about how she loves to be home in Atlanta, of course. I mean, and then that was it.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: They Like, just you didn't showed get any of Riley.

Dad: No. No. A little bit of a confessional, but that was it.

Isabella: Yeah. So I don't know. I miss her. I need her to redeem herself, like, badly. Okay.

And then we have Shai, who's making this clothing brand, who I I mean, I'm just rolling my eyes at this the whole time. Like, they all is this this just a rite of passage to move to New York and, like, decide maybe you want to make a clothing brand?

Dad: I guess, but it it also seems very difficult to scale because he's going out and finding individual pieces and using them to craft into some one other he calls it upcycled materials as opposed to recycled materials. But I just don't know how he could ever make it into a real line if he's going to markets and pulling out old linens and converting each piece into a separate shirt? How are you going to make that scalable?

Isabella: Yeah. You'd have to find a manufacturer that's going to print that specific kind of fabric on.

Dad: Right. Right.

Isabella: Yeah, Fabric, whatever. Yeah, good luck to him, but what was so funny is he clearly is texting Ava and Brooks because they have a following and he wants them to do a photoshoot. They're not responding at all, which to an extent I think is a little bit rude, because if this is your friend and you guys are close, which may not be the case actually, I think I would do that for a friend.

Dad: Or at least tell that they're not going to do it and say, Hey, I'm sorry I can't do it. Ava seems really busy. She needs money to pay for her new apartment because her dad hasn't paid her back the money borrowed. So she could at least say, I get it, Shai, but I just have too much going on.

Isabella: Yeah. If it were me and I was in Shai's position, I would totally get it. I just would want a response. To ignore me would really, really piss me off. And the name of the episode was Left on Red.

Dad: Oh, I didn't notice that.

Isabella: Yeah. So I don't like Shai, but I felt a little bad for him there. I was laughing at it too. I was like, this is kind of funny that they're completely ignoring you. But if I put myself in his shoes, I'd be kind of bummed about it too.

Now what was weird though, what I would not have said is he kept bombarding them and goes, should I be concerned? I'm like, Dude, maybe if you were their best best friend and they weren't responding, then yeah. If something was wrong with them, you would not be the person they'd go to anyway.

Dad: Right.

Isabella: So stop being like, Oh, should I be concerned? To try and get them to respond to you. I don't like that. That's weird. I don't really remember how it ended, like how next episode is gonna look.

Dad: They gave a preview of almost the entire season coming up.

Isabella: Oh, that's right. Okay. So, oh, what I did wanna mention is it came out online this week that rumors came out that Ariana hooked up with Charlie during this season. Yes, And

Dad: I think

Isabella: we saw that a little bit on the preview. Yes. That she and Charlie are gonna start getting really close. I think Liam's gonna get pretty jealous. I don't even know if Hudson's still in the mix, her ex boyfriend.

Dad: Right. It didn't show him much in the previews for the rest the season.

Isabella: That's interesting. So maybe he was on the season at the beginning, but then once he realized that maybe he and Ariana weren't gonna get back together right away, maybe he removed himself a little bit more.

Dad: Could be. Could be.

Isabella: Would be smart of him. So I'm I'm excited for the rest of this season. I think it's gonna be good.

Dad: I agree. I think there's a lot of potential there.

Isabella: Yeah. Oh, the other thing, I know we probably need to move on, they're casting for more NextGen in other cities. Like, think they're doing NextGen LA and NextGen they were maybe even gonna do Atlanta, I heard.

Dad: Interesting.

Isabella: Yeah. So I don't know. That's rumors. And I think if it's true, they're still in the casting process. But that would be interesting to see.

I just hope they don't ruin what they have here.

Dad: Right. Okay. You wanna move to Big Brother?

Isabella: Yeah. Not much there. I just there's one thing that happened this week that was pretty crazy if you think about living there. So I mentioned Jason last week, he's the guy who is fake crying to Angela, the older woman on the show, and kind of playing in her face. And she called him out for it.

He has since been called out again for doing shady stuff, like telling people the same thing, telling people, oh, if he wins the veto, he's gonna use it on them. He's saying this to multiple people. He got called out for that again. And the way he reacts is he pulls out this tea kettle and a wooden spoon, and he's going around the house all day and night every time he hears someone talking game or he sees someone having a serious conversation, he goes around the whole house and says, Hello, banging on the pot and says, There's tea, so and so is talking outside, they're talking strategically, everyone go outside and look. He's doing this day and night, and I don't know how long this is going on, but all these people are forced to deal with this.

And it's not the first time this has happened either. There have been people that have banged on pots and pans before to piss other people off. And I think it's part of just like these people are stuck in this house, they do not see the outside world, they have no contact, they only are dealing with each other, I think it makes them go crazy a little bit. And we're only on week three. This show lasts like two months, at least.

Dad: I'm annoyed just listening to you tell that. I can't imagine living through that.

Isabella: Yeah. So either way, he's on the chopping block. Like, he's gonna go. They're over him. They want to vote him out.

So I don't even remember if he did get voted out. But that's all I have for Big Brother. It's a little it's it's kinda crazy this season. It's good.
